The award is presented to businesses advancing a more sustainable, safe and healthy world supported by Johnson Controls technology and expertise. 🌱 In 2008, Children’s signed a 25-year contract with Johnson Controls to build, design, operate and maintain its new central utility plant. The plant includes hundreds of computer-controlled monitors and advanced controls that provide real-time responses to changes in weather, humidity and hospital needs. It also recycles water and steam to improve the overall system's efficiency. These advancements have resulted in significant energy savings, rapid cost reduction, enhanced fault detection and uninterrupted utilities for the hospital.

Congratulations to Sara Bugg, PICU, who was awarded a DAISY! Her nomination read, in part, “My son was admitted with sepsis and an unknown infection at the time… I was scared for my son and to be going through this alone since our family lives two hours away… when I got to the room, Sara was our nurse. She continued reassuring me that I wasn’t alone and that they would help us through this… She helped keep my son off the ventilator and keep him alive through the night… I know we would be in a worse spot without her.”
