Professeure de droit privé - Directrice de la Chaire 3IA "Droit & IA"IA, blockchain, FinTech, éthique et régulation
Great honor for me to introduce the talk of John Shawe-Taylor (UNESCO Chair in AI/ University College London, UK / IRCAI, Slovenia), in the conference organized by UNESCO EVA Chair and professor Vanessa Nurock. The topic is "Human-centric Artificial Intelligence and Education" in a global questioning about AI and Education for Democracy. The challenge of the conference is to examine the conditions under which we can envision an ethics linked with artificial intelligence that articulates the notion of care with Artificial Intelligence, meaning that it allows us to care for each other and for the democratic institutions that bind us together. 🌟New Research Alert: "Deepfakes and Higher Education" that explores the critical implications of #deepfakes in #academia. As these technologies surface in educational settings, it's vital we prepare for both challenges and opportunities. 💡This study sheds light on necessary strategies for cyber-bullying, reputational management, and crisis mitigation, while considering the potential benefits of #AI for #teaching and #learning. 👨🏫 As a #professor deeply invested in communication studies and #PR, I see immense value in preparing our educational institutions for the nuanced impacts of #syntheticmedia. This includes crafting comprehensive response strategies that safeguard our academic integrity while embracing innovative teaching tools. 📚Dive into the full article here and let's discuss how we can collectively navigate the complexities of deepfakes in education: https://lnkd.in/ei_AsJ9q #education #publicrelations #strategiccommunication #crisismanagement #AILiteracy #medialiteracy
📢 A new preprint written by myself and Dr Mike Perkins on #deepfakes in #highereducation, expanding the conversation on #AI. Deepfakes and Higher Education: A Research Agenda and Scoping Review of Synthetic Media. Deepfakes have hit the headlines a lot lately, making this contribution all the more timely and important. In fact, creating explicit deepfakes was criminalised in the UK just last week. It is only a matter of time before deepfake technology shows itself in educational contexts. In this study we looked at 182 studies on deepfakes (but none yet on their implications in higher education), in order to form a research agenda on what we need to know, and how we need to prepare in educational institutions to cope with the impacts of deepfakes. This includes preparing for cyber-bullying cases that involve deepfakes, creating reputational management plans for dealing with deepfakes that erode trust in institutions or impersonate academic leaders, and creating deepfake crisis mitigation plans. At the same time, we recognize that synthetic media may have some beneficial opportunities for teaching, learning, and assessment. 🏛️How to utilise AI and new technologies when teaching conflictual histories? Join this #NECECampus webinar to learn about the application of technologies like AI in the context of history education and communication of polarising topics. The webinar will introduce the Histories from Belene project of the Sofia Platform Foundation, a digital platform for teaching and communicating the history of Bulgaria’s forced labour camps of the communist period (1944-1989). By using AI-powered virtual conversations with survivors of the camps and other new technologies to create a virtual tour of the largest and best preserved camp, it provides an engaging, interactive platform for exploring the history of the communist period. The digital platform is an innovative tool for engaging with a difficult past and broaching the polarising topic of the Bulgarian communist regime, its history, significance and legacy. Join us and the team of the Sofia Platform Foundation to learn more about the project, how it was created and how it is being used in teaching and engaging a wider audience. The session will share considerations for the use of new technologies, such as AI, opportunities and challenges in their applications, and what we need as educators and practitioners to make the most of these new tools. Secure your spot and register here: https://shorturl.at/egiS3 *All NECE Campus events are free of charge. #AIHistory #ArtificialIntelligence #CivicEducation #Polarisation #HistoriesfromBelene #VirtualReality

This is an image generated by Dall-E of the Boston Massacre in 1770. In front is the body of Crispus Attucks, the fist person killed by British soldiers. Images like this can enhance learning, but check out the skyscrapers in the background? It is AI Week at Northeastern. Come join me Thursday evening from 7.30 to 8.50 and we will discuss how to use generative AI for teaching and research in the social sciences and humanities.

This is a must-read—provocative and insightful.
On behalf of the editorial board, am thrilled to announce the publication of Volume 2, Issue 1 (2024) of the International Journal of Emerging and Disruptive Innovation in Education: VISIONARIUM, a special issue sponsored by the Lindenwood University College of Arts and Humanities. This issue, "Human-AI Symbiosis: Ethical, Skill-Based, and Philosophical Implications in Higher Education," ventures into the critical and emerging intersections of Generative AI, human capabilities, ethical challenges, and philosophical inquiries within the realm of higher education. Read the full issue here: https://lnkd.in/eRX9VqSj Our contributors (Piper Hutson, Jason Lively, Chris Mayer, Jason Ceballos, Andrew Begemann, Kathi Vosevich, Ph.D., Kholoud Ghaith, and more) have delivered insightful examinations on a variety of pertinent topics, including the irreplaceable value of human skills such as empathy and ethical judgment in the AI-enhanced educational landscape, the essential ethical frameworks for AI in education, and the complex dynamics of 'fearing the other' as AI becomes more prevalent in our interactions. This issue also offers profound analyses on how AI can foster or should be tailored to enhance vital human and power skills, such as creativity, leadership, and teamwork, and provides interdisciplinary perspectives that highlight varying impacts of AI across different academic disciplines. I extend my deepest gratitude to our dedicated editorial board (https://lnkd.in/gNDJUMGx) and the distinguished authors whose rigorous work and innovative insights have made this issue not only possible but a seminal contribution to the discourse on AI in education. #HumanAIAcademia #EthicsInAI #HigherEducation #LindenwoodUniversity #ArtificialIntelligence

Turning data into business | AI before it was cool | PhD. in NLP | TEDx Speaker | Femme Palette Mentor
Back to my Alma mater, Univerzita Karlova 🩵 I owe so much to Matfyz, the least I can do is to return regularly and give lectures - which I have been doing ever since my Ph.D. I enjoy sharing practical examples of applying computational linguistics and data analysis within the industry and I am very grateful I could represent EmbedIT for the first time and introduce the company to the students. #data #AI #womanintech
