I have always been so proud of Humana’s longstanding commitment to veterans, service members and their families and the work we do to support their health and well-being. That’s why I am pleased to learn about this new Veteran Ready Healthcare Certificate program for our employees at more than 20 of our Conviva Care Center and CenterWell Senior Primary Care locations throughout Texas. The training will provide our employees with an understanding of military veteran issues, including the types of healthcare barriers veterans face. I am honored to have been asked to participate in a panel discussion about the value of Medicare Advantage during the AHIP 2024 Medicare, Medicaid, Duals and Commercial Markets Forum in Baltimore this week alongside Mark Hamelburg with AHIP and Terri Swanson with Aetna. These discussions are so important to help address misconceptions about Medicare Advantage and educate industry leaders about access to care, the positive impacts of value-based care, strides in interoperability and so much more. I am pleased to announce that my Humana Medicare divisional leadership role has been expanded to include both our Medicare Group and Medicare Supplement teams. I have been with Humana for nearly 14 years, and I couldn’t be more excited to help contribute to the further success of these talented teams. Group Medicare Advantage plans not only protect the health of retirees and their families—they can also provide financial stability in organizations, while Medicare Supplement plans, also known as “Medigap” insurance, may help pay some of the healthcare costs that Medicare Parts A and B don’t, like coinsurance, copayments or deductibles. I am grateful to be chosen for this responsibility and look forward to the opportunities ahead! #HUMemployee
