Well, I know that I am a bit behind, but I would be silly to not post about IPW this year! As the proud premier sponsor, Brand USA welcomed over 5,700 participants from over 70 countries to the largest U.S. tourism industry event. I had the privilege of presenting the latest trends in the Canadian market— the largest international market for US travel, with over 20.5 million visitors in 2023! I'm thrilled to share my latest accomplishment and biggest thus far with Brand USA. The inaugural Canada MegaFam was a huge success, with over 55 travel advisors from across Canada joining hosts from Brand USA and Air Canada on 6 different itineraries across the U.S. at THE SAME TIME! It was an incredible experience to see everyone come together for a grand finale in Houston where they pulled out all the stops. Katie Streater and I feel so proud to have been a part of it all! What a ride these past few weeks have been with Brand USA, Collette, and the entire Canadian travel agent network from coast to coast. We ventured to Ottawa, Halifax, Winnipeg, Edmonton, Calgary, and Vancouver in a matter of two weeks, showcasing the great outdoors of the United States through the big-screen film "Into Nature's Wild". In the process, we trained over 400 travel agents on all the travel trade resources available to them and logged 16 flights and over 13,000 miles flown. Not to mention we took the film's star, astronaut John Herrington along for the ride too! I haven't posted in a bit, mainly because I am learning the ropes of my new job and creating strong relationships in the travel trade market in Canada and naturally it has taken a lot of my time. It's a great feeling to meet with passionate tourism counterparts and do wonderful things with the Canadian market to aid in tourism recovery for two nations. This past week in Montreal and Toronto was packed full of meetings that generated great ideas, created potential for new partnerships and helped create a path for several teams in our organization moving forward.
