Very interesting post about the major effort put into developing Advanced Driving Assistance Systems (ADAS) 🚗and Autonomous Driving (AD) 💥🚗... The Alliance led by CARIAD and Bosch aims to provide next generation ADAS and AD systems while tackling on almost daily basis new technological challenges in almost every part of the development cycle💪💪. As common as it may seem, development of ADAS/AD systems for open roads is quite an impressive challenge and reaching higher and higher levels of precision requires new technological advances in fields such as System Engineering, requirements engineering, testing and validation, and last but most importantly machine learning and data science. Hope it to see more and more technological advances on the way to fully autonomous vehicles🚗🚗🚗.

For almost 100 years, Bosch has been setting new standards making cars safer by means of technical innovations, inventions, and patents for braking systems. To name a few: 🚀 In 1927, the pneumatic servo brake significantly increased the road safety. The braking distance of contemporary commercial vehicles was reduced by one third. 🚀 One year later, Bosch presented the brake support, a compact brake assistance system for passenger cars. 🚀 In 1936, the basis for modern anti-lock braking systems was laid when Bosch filed a patent for a "mechanism to prevent locking of the wheels of a motor vehicle." 🚀 In 1978, the powerful digital technology allowed the series production of the anti-lock braking system (ABS). Let's move #LikeABosch and shape a new era of mobility – together! 🤝 💻🚘 The vehicles of the future will be as much at home in the clouds as on the roads. "Our technology will make the software-defined vehicle a reality," said Bosch chairman Stefan Hartung Hartung at this year's IAA MOBILITY event in Munich, Germany. We expect sales in our Bosch Mobility business sector to grow by roughly 10 percent in 2023. The software-defined vehicle will mean that new functions, such as those for driver assistance, appear on our roads faster. They can be added to the car over the air via software updates. As a result, vehicles will be just like new, even after many years.   In our approach to the software-defined vehicle, we go further than others: Our software is hardware-agnostic, and runs on chips made by different manufacturers.
