Read the responsibilities and show that you have experience and success in all those areas. 📩 A cover letter is great, as long as it's relevant. You might be proud of that project but unless the job ad is asking for that experience, save that story for the interview. ⚡ Apply like a recruiter. In recruitment we use Boolean searches to headhunt for relevant skills and experience. You can apply the same logic to your job searches, but reversed. Here's an example: ("VP of Product" OR "Vice President of Product" OR "Head of Product" OR "Director of Product" OR "Product Leader") Jobs 🤝 Partner with a recruiter in your field. There are 10s of 1,000s of recruitment businesses all around the world that have different focuses. Find a recruiter that will best represent you, and build a relationship with them. 💻💻💻 What’s going on in tech? I’ve been seeing articles claiming all sorts of things about tech hiring and tech companies, but our iCIMS Insights data indicates it might be a bit too early to make a call quite yet... instead here's the raw data.    Since January 2022:  11% Less Tech Hires 15% Less Tech Job openings BUT job applications for tech roles are up 85%     There is a clearly a huge disconnect between employer actions and candidate behaviors as hires and job openings remain in line with the past year and applications surge to a new high. The good news here--- if you're looking for technical talent, the data shows it should be easier to find that diamond in the rough! And if you're not hiring right now--- it's a great time to build pipelines of tech talent while they're actively applying! If we've learned anything in the last 3 years, it's that this hiring landscape is unpredictable (UNDERSTATEMENT!) so either way, use this an opportunity to get ahead- either now or maybe very soon!

It’s been an interesting year in the world of data and analytics so far – with three months left to run. This is one industry that moves at lightning speed, with new roles emerging all the time and a scramble to attract candidates with the latest skills. At the beginning of the year, we were talking about DataOps and Analytics Engineers. Now, it’s all about AI – Prompt Engineers and AIOps are rapidly making their way up the ‘hot jobs’ list. To attract candidates, we’re finding that flexibility is still key. The majority of people are looking for hybrid or remote roles, despite the trend for returning to the office gathering momentum. For data and analytics candidates looking to move on, the ability to navigate the pace of change, quickly get to grips with new tools and adapt to different ways of working continues to be the route to progression. Employers able to offer learning and development opportunities and exciting projects will benefit. 👀I've got a guy for that This is something i say to customers and prospects a LOT. I'm just a performance and tuning geek. I know enough about lots of other things to be a little dangerous, to communicate effectively, and lead my team. But often times I won't do a piece of a project myself. ❓High availability and Failover? Got guys for that. ❓Data analytics? Got guys for that ❓Cloud? You guessed it, guys for that too. ❓Security? Covered (I just played one on TV for a while - seriously link in comments) TLDR- One of the benefits of using my MSP in place of another new hire is you get to have specialists servicing your environment know matter what your needs are. I've got experts at everything DBAs can be an expert in. Talk to me before hiring another FTE. It is worth 20 minutes and could save you lots of heartache. #dba #hiring #fte #businessstrategy #data p.s. And for what it's worth, a lot of my guys are some of the most brilliant women you will meet in the data field, I just use "guys" and "team" interchangably, please don't take offense. :)

I recently had the privilege to engage with Impact Solutions Lab (An AAMF Project), a not-for-profit org building non-conventional and transformative educational programs to empower disadvantaged communities. ISL is *different*. Their KPI isn't money deployed, it's the social value delivered. They've put together an exceptionally holistic program and I've witnessed the lasting change it has delivered. ISL's leadership is *very* future-first and has an exciting AI Roadmap ahead of them. They're looking to onboard people who can drive this roadmap. The role in the quoted post is a mix of an MLE, and an SDE. Someone who can deploy AI solutions, manage DBs, build APIs.
