Bobbi Jo Sikora’s Post

Last week, Petco made the difficult decision to implement a significant number layoffs within the marketing and creative departments, and unfortunately, I found myself among those affected. While I understand that many industries, especially retail, have faced challenges in the current economic climate, I was surprised to be included in the list of impacted partners. Despite the circumstances, I am grateful for the valuable experiences and the wonderful individuals I have had the pleasure of working with at Petco. The support I have received has been truly remarkable and humbling. I am currently seeking new opportunities in CRM, Loyalty, Payments, GTM, and Marketing Strategy. Any leads, ideas, informal interviews, or referrals in these areas would be greatly appreciated as I navigate this transition. I aspire to work with a customer-focused company that values CRM and loyalty. I seek a role on the client or agency side where I can leverage my expertise and make a significant impact. I excel at transforming data into actionable insights and aligning overall strategy with omni-channel tactics to support it. I am skilled at building and creating high-performing teams and operate as an empathetic leader. Nothing is more fun than playing with the data! Thank you... #layoffs #retail #opentowork #CRMLoyalty You have to feel it to overcome it. ~The stress of losing a job is undeniable. Don’t ignore your own needs, it’s ok to have a  bad day, just don’t let them all be bad days. Focus on what you can control. Build a plan for your search, execute it. ~Create structure in your day. Open all lines of communication, follow up. Allow yourself to heal. ~Take advantage of the extra time you have. Prioritize yourself – eat healthy and workout. Learn a new skill or hobby. No excuses. Appreciate the support. Give back. ~Support your fellow job seekers. Listen. Offer guidance, support, and introductions. Check on them periodically.

Bobbi Jo, I’m truly surprised as well. I think it’s safe to say that in this transitional period, Petco is losing a lot of much-needed talent but all things happen for a reason. I personally remain in your corner.
