Yesterday, Airtifae Group brought together Skalleagues from all over the world at the International Council for Small Business (ICSB) World Congress in Berlin, Germany. Our esteemed Skalleagues discussed challenges and issues facing the hospitality and tourism industry, such as geopolitical issues, sustainability and environmental impact, labor shortages, and human trafficking, and how we can address them. Our audience learned from experts Tito Livio Mongelli and Mario Cardone especially on the topic of AI in the industry and how the industry will continue to evolve and adapt as the world changes. Afterwards, a panel session of Annette Cardenas Bertrand Petyt, and Moritz Freise, moderated by Barry Biggar discussed the challenges and opportunities the industry faces. I had an incredible time last week at The #Geneva/Fribourg Entrepreneurship World Forum! This event provided fantastic guidance, training, and networking for small businesses and entrepreneurs. I enjoyed sharing this experience with Camille Burns, Gloria Freeman, Andres Omar Hayes, and Betty Hines, W.E.W. Founder and CEO (she/her) WPO Platinum III Chair. We gathered to support the entrepreneurial community alongside the MSME Day Celebration at the UN. Switzerland offered the perfect backdrop. #Fribourg’s blend of SMEs and global companies like Nestlé and ROLEX embodies the spirit of “think local, act global.” The forum was a treasure trove of great discussions, valuable connections, and fresh insights. On June 27, I had the honor of speaking at the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland, celebrating Micro-, Small, and Medium-Sized Enterprises Day. On April 6, 2017, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution recognizing the crucial role Micro-, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (MSMEs) play in achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Resolution (A/71/279) designates June 27 as “Micro-, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Day”. In this session, I discussed the importance of supporting MSME's in their growth and international expansion, mentorship, and advocacy for women entrepreneurs. While discussing these important topics, I had the opportunity to also share about the work of Airtifae Group and how we support MSMEs, as well as my past entrepreneurial ventures and work in DC Government attracting FDI to Washington, DC and helping our local SMEs expand internationally. Lastly I talked about the importance of the hospitality and tourism in today’s economy and explained why is important to belong to an organization like Skål International Official .
