To celebrate Juneteenth, I decided to spend all weekend playing in Colorado with a childhood friend. Honestly, I cannot think of a better way to celebrate freedom. I often think about how exhausted mentally, physically and emotionally the enslaved must have been when the news finally reached them. I imagine the news itself provided a moment of rest. I hope we take a pause this holiday to honor the enslaved who did not live to see June 19, 1865; and those who did. I hope we take a pause to reflect on what else we can each do to preserve and expand freedom. Happy Juneteenth week. #juneteenth #outdoorequity

This is a beautifully reflective and powerful tribute. The way you combined personal celebration with honoring the past is truly inspiring. Taking time to reflect on the significance of Juneteenth and the sacrifices made by so many is essential. Here's to making strides toward preserving and expanding freedom for all.
