It's no secret that development professionals tend not to stay with an organization for very long (of course, there are always exceptions!). Without a doubt, they can be challenging positions. But now and then, an expert fundraiser finds a nonprofit with the right culture, and it's a good match all around - which is beneficial for the employee's career AND the likelihood of fundraising success for the organization. Join our own Lisa Betson Resnik and our friend Jackie Keating for this eye-opening session on creating an organization where employees want to stay and grow in their roles. #professionaldevelopment #fundraising #nonprofitculture
Is turnover on your development team harming your fundraising efforts? The IU Lilly Family School of Philanthropy recently reported that the average tenure for Development Directors is eighteen months. This course will help you create a culture where people want to join, stay, and grow with your organization! The class will be taught by Jackie Keating and Lisa Betson Resnik. It was an exciting day for our leadership team earlier this week when we visited the new Goodwill Industries of Kentucky Opportunity Center in West Louisville. This one-stop shop is a game changer for people seeking a path toward employment and a hand up in life. It's also an inspiring example of collaboration in action; Volunteers of America Mid-States offers housing support, health resources, veteran services, recovery treatment and more on-site, making it easier than ever for job seekers to access everything they need in one central location. (Nonprofits, take note: Meeting spaces are available at no cost!)

Today the A|R team met at Goodwill Industries of Kentucky for our monthly meeting. Prior to our meeting we had the pleasure of a tour by Andrew Gillette. If you have not visited, I highly recommend you do so. With many partners, they are doing fantastic work for our community! #workforcedevelopment #communitywork

One of the things we're most proud of is our commitment to open mindedness and hearing different perspectives. These days, it's more important than ever as we all work to find common ground - and for us, use it as the foundation for helping our client partners create meaningful impact. We believe every perspective is valuable and uniquely one's own based on lived experience. Our team member Larissa Reece was recently asked to participate in College Bowl by Divided We Fall, a nonprofit, nonpartisan news publication. In this written debate, Larissa shares her perspective on the current state of philanthropy in higher education. Please enjoy this thoughtful, civil discourse!
