A big moment for our team Arriva Nederland? We think so! They’re breaking down borders 🌍 with the launch of a new international rail service 🚉 – the 'Three-Country Train' – connecting Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany and marking the first time Arriva has had a presence in Belgium. The service is operated by crews from each of the three countries, with handovers taking place along the route. Our collaboration with Nederlandse Spoorwegen and NMBS Internationaal - SNCB International is making it easier for passengers to choose rail and take cars off the road. It's World Passenger Festival and we're looking forward to joining Nagarro on the Digital Innovation stage, where Arriva UK Trains' Kerry Phillipson will be speaking about generative AI. Speaking at 12:30 on Tuesday 25th, the audience will hear about Arriva's adoption experiences and two prototypes will also be demonstrated during the session, using conversational interfaces to assist customers with their planning and booking as well as simplifying tasks for train station staff. This technology has huge potential to enhance customer experience and drive forward the future of rail travel. 🚆

Public Transport is all about connection(s) - a great new TV ad from our Arriva UK Bus business encourages people to think about catching the bus and illustrates how we're often at the heart of communities, bringing people together.

Electrification ⚡ will be one of the big topics at this year's MOVE: Mobility Re-imagined, starting tomorrow. Our Zero Emission Institute Director, Matt Greener will be there both days, talking about Arriva's decarbonisation journey, sharing his insights and talking to industry colleagues about some of the challenges. ARRIVA CZ are showcasing their sustainability credentials with this short film, which highlights their leading position in Czech Republic, where they have the biggest fleet of electric buses 🔌 🚍 compared to any other operator there. This fleet continues to grow. Arriva CZ sees its future in the electrification of the railway 🛤 and in electric trains - and they're more than ready for the challenge because of their experience operating fully electric trains in the Pilsen region ⚡ 🚉

Our team at ARRIVA Slovakia started a new contract this month providing urban bus transport services in the city of Senec for the next 10 years. The service builds on our operations there since 2022 and will ensure children can travel to school and seniors can get around for shopping, medical appointments or social activities, because it's provided free of charge in partnership with the city transport authorities. It's a great example of how we can tailor-make sustainable transport solutions working in partnership with our clients.

A great initiative from our colleagues in Hungary to recognise drivers who have achieved 15,000 hours (that equates to 8 years) of safe driving without any accidents. Safety is a critical focus across Arriva - and as they point out, this is a major achievement in the Budapest traffic. It's also great to hear that this prestigious club is growing. Yesterday we welcomed representatives from our new shareholder, I Squared Capital, to our offices in London. We hosted a live broadcast for over 500 of Arriva’s senior managers across 11 countries so they could hear directly from I Squared. Pictured on the stage (from left) is David Brown, Managing Director of our UK Trains division, Mike Cooper, CEO Arriva Group, Enrico Del Prete, Fund Partner at I Squared, Christian Goeseke, CFO Arriva Group and Philippe Lenoble, I Squared’s Operating Advisor to Arriva. It was great hearing more about their business and what makes them tick. What we heard was: 🚌 I Squared care passionately about building sustainable businesses. They are long-term investors and they share our vision for decarbonised fleets that will serve our communities and drive business performance. 🚆 We both consider urbanisation and the decarbonisation agenda as a great opportunity because public transport plays such a critical role. 🚌 Arriva’s operational and geographic diversity offers an attractive and unique opportunity for growth. 🚆 They have been impressed by our business performance but importantly, they have also been impressed by all the people within Arriva who want to make a difference to passengers and clients throughout Europe, every day.
