What a week its been! We had our first London Gartner Symposium which was a huge success - it was great to see so many people in person. The added bonus was that I got the opportunity to present our most recent digital commerce work Digital IQ: How Top Brands Win in Digital Commerce.
Summary of findings, Top digital commerce brands :
1. Tailor commerce marketing execution more than other brands. They create more audience-specific content and also rightsize the number of channels to optimize ROI.
2. Focus on three core buying experience priorities to drive conversion: immersive guided selling tools, rich product detail and service pages, and frictionless transaction features (e.g., payment options, automation).
3. Recognize the importance of postpurchase experiences to maximize customer lifetime value in both revenue and sentiment. They help customers get value from past purchases, promote complementary products and services, and put the customer in control of self-service support.
