Our company's ongoing advocacy for health equity was front and center at #BeckersHealthcare Spring Payer Issues Roundtable in Chicago last week when our Director of Quality Health Equity, Danielle Brooks, joined a panel discussion on the topic. The panel, moderated by Becker’s Editor in Chief Alan Condon, focused on the unique health challenges in both urban and rural populations, and the strategies in play to reduce inequities and the health disparities those inequities trigger. Panelists also addressed how technology and innovation can bridge gaps in access to health care. The theme of this year’s spring roundtable was how disruption and innovation are constant in healthcare. The event, which was attended by 300 health care executives, also featured keynote addresses by former President George W. Bush and entrepreneur Martha Stewart. #HealthEquity #HealthDisparities

The emotional well-being of our associates and the communities we serve is the focus of a campaign we launched today in support of #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth. “Culture, Community and Mental Health Care” will highlight how cultural differences, community factors, and access to mental health services can affect a person’s perceptions and response to emotional health issues. Through a series of special programs and learning courses, associates will learn from wellness experts about self-care and how to identify and support the mental health struggles of others. Program topics include the culture of poverty, gender-affirming mental health care, and mental health in the community. #BehavioralHealth #EmotionalHealth #SelfCare

The challenges of ensuring patients take prescribed medications was the topic of a recent Artcraft Health podcast that featured one of our pharmacy leaders, Andrew Maiorini, Vice President of Clinical Programs at PerformRx, part of AmeriHealth Caritas. The episode is the fourth in a series called “Conversations that Impact Outcomes,” during which host Lisa Moss Calderwood interviews medical experts on ways to improve health outcomes through educational efforts that can help transform patient behaviors. Drew addressed factors that often interfere with medication adherence, including the social determinants of health and chronic illnesses, and shared best practices that are helping health plans and practitioners improve outcomes. https://lnkd.in/ecEuqetr #MedicationAdherence #SocialDeterminantsofHealth #PBMs
