AAM’s 2024 Detroit Campus summer interns recently volunteered at Focus: HOPE for the second year in a row as part of the “Food Boxes for Seniors” event. #TeamAAM interns spent a combined total of 87 hours packing nearly 1,600 boxes filled with essential food items for Detroit-area senior citizens, surpassing last year’s volunteering effort by three hours.

AAM’s Black Associate Network ARG recently sponsored and attended the Detroit Branch NAACP 69th Annual Fight for Freedom Fund Dinner. #TeamAAM and over 6,000 other attendees had the opportunity to enjoy dinner, live entertainment and networking, all while celebrating advocacy, community engagement and the ongoing fight for civil rights and equality. U.S. President Joe Biden delivered the event’s keynote address, emphasizing the importance of civil rights and social justice. It marked only the second time a sitting U.S. president has given the keynote address in the dinner’s history.

#TeamAAM from our Detroit Campus recently demonstrated their commitment to community when they volunteered at Capuchin Soup Kitchen’s Earthworks Urban Farm. 27 Associates spent a combined total of 54 hours across two sessions helping with general cleanup to support the farm, including weeding plant beds, harvesting crops, processing produce, mixing soil and planting.

Our Three Rivers Manufacturing Facility (TRMF) in Michigan recently participated in the 2024 MiCareerQuest, hosted by Michigan Works! and St. Joseph County Career and Technical Education (CTE). During the event, #TeamAAM from TRMF connected with students and gave them the opportunity to assemble differential cases, turn wrenches, see a robot in action and talk about future career opportunities available at AAM.

Congratulations to Cohen McGee and Jacob Norton, co-ops from our Three Rivers Manufacturing Facility (TRMF) in Michigan, for recently completing U.S. Department of Labor Industrial Manufacturing Technician Apprenticeships in partnership with TRMF and St. Joseph County Career Technical Education (CTE)! Along with being recent graduates of Three Rivers High School, Cohen and Jacob have worked as co-ops at TRMF, where they have had the opportunity to gain experience in several areas including production, engineering, metallurgy, maintenance and materials.
