Career Mentors are local businesspeople who coach students through our program. Our learning sessions are held at a schools in Detroit, Harper Woods, Warren, Sterling Heights, and Pontiac, during the school day, and in a classroom with staff, teachers, students, and Career Mentors present. About us
Winning Futures is an award winning nonprofit organization that makes a difference in the lives of young people. We offer school-based mentoring programs and workshops for middle school and high school students in Southeast Michigan. All of our programs focus on the life skills of character value identification, goal setting, career preparation, and strategic planning. We partner with organizations throughout the country to implement our life skills workbooks and activities.

Read more: https://lnkd.in/gY6itGrh Sky is a student in our Workforce Prep program at Harper Woods High School in Harper Woods. Her career mentor is Angela M Oleksiak of Samaritas. After graduating from high school, Sky plans to attend college and become a mental health therapist. Named in honor of our founder, Sam Cupp, and his mentor, Gene Hamilton, the Cupp-Hamilton Scholarship is awarded to current Winning Futures high school students in 11th or 12th grade who complete and excel in a competitive application process which includes an online application, essay, and formal business interview. Applications are judged by volunteers from the business community and staff. Funds may be used for continuing education expenses including tuition, technical or apprenticeship training fees, and other related expenses. Harper Woods School District
