Just Googled “How to market an open marketing role,” and the results told us to come here. If only we had a Senior Manager of Brand Marketing to give us advice. Sigh. They would definitely know how to attract a highly strategic, creatively-minded and results-oriented marketer. No doubt, they’d suggest that we mention this new addition to our team will lead the development and delivery of marketing programs, from seasonal shoots to brand campaigns. Oh, and that we’re a company that values sustainability, innovation, and work-life balance. Yeah, they’d definitely tell us to include that. But instead, we’ll just say that we’re seeking a Senior Manager of Brand Marketing to join The Flock, and that the link to apply is right here.

We know that us brand accounts can occasionally–okay, maybe even often–be guilty of talking about ourselves too much. Which is why we're elated to share that this is now an Amy Powney fan account. Amy is a friend of The Flock, an inspiration to our team (and many others), and a trailblazer in sustainable fashion. So, it just makes sense to pause our usual self-indulgence to applaud her. Amy joined Mother of Pearl as an assistant in 2006 and quickly worked her way up to become the brand’s Creative Director and owner. Known for it’s no-frills aesthetic and impressive sustainable credentials, the brand has dressed everyone from Paloma Faith to Gwyneth Paltrow. In 2022, the documentary Fashion Reimagined came out, detailing Amy’s quest to design a completely sustainable collection from field to finished garment. We sat down with her to discuss her professional journey, where she finds inspiration, and what brands she's keeping an eye on, so that you can join us in fangirl-ing over this dear friend of ours.

We brought our favorite people together for an afternoon of birdwatching–led by our friends at Flock Together–and discussion on driving positive change in the fashion industry. This month, we’re celebrating someone who HATES the spotlight: Our Senior Director of Product Creation, James Romero. You’ll thank us one day, James. If you ever log into LinkedIn to check all your fan mail. James is an Allbirds OG, having been with The Flock for more than seven years. (That’s approximately 74 years in bird years, according to our calculations.) In that time, he’s overseen the development of dozens of our products, bringing together strategic vision and hands-on know-how to create the Allbirds products you know and love. He also oversaw the delivery of a several-thousand-pound conference table, which will remain in our office, well, forever. Because frankly, we can’t get it back out. Talk about leaving a legacy. Though he’s surely cringing while reading this, what we really want to say is: James, thanks for all you do. Our flock wouldn’t be the same without you.

Jason brings nearly two decades of experience guiding the creative direction of products and brands, having worked for the likes of The North Face, Salomon and Specialized Bicycle Components.
