Youth Mental Health First Aid Coordinator

Job Description

Girl Scouts San Diego is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) Coordinator to join our team. The coordinator will support the successful delivery of YMHFA training to Girl Scout San Diego members and community members and partners to deliver YMHFA classes to business and community partners. This is a grant-funded position and will conclude on April 30, 2026.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES And RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops and implements a project plan for the marketing, scheduling and delivery of in-person or virtual YMHFA training to GSSD members and community partners.
  • Connects with council members, community members and partners to develop awareness of YMHFA training, benefits and value, and available class sessions.
  • Coordinates scheduling and delivery of in-person or virtual training sessions and instructors, class preparation and set-up, and provides all program support activities.
  • Develops program resources and maintains inventory of YMHFA training materials and supplies.
  • Conducts YMHFA training when needed.
  • Partner with youth-focused behavioral and mental health providers to build a referral resource network
  • Collaborates with Marketing & Communications to promote YMHFA classes, including development of program collateral, social media posts, and other outreach opportunities.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education, training and work experience to perform the essential functions of the position.
  • At least 2 years proven experience in the area of project management, marketing, and/or recruitment; grant management experience a plus.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and concisely verbally and in writing; ability to teach, train, and present subject matter in a compassionate and compelling manner.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to details.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and successfully handle multiple projects and competing timelines, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Ability to cultivate, foster, and manage relationships and network effectively.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Must be a YMHFA certified instructor or complete the training within 90 days of hire; on occasion, may be required to conduct the training
  • Reliability and demonstrated good judgment under stress.
  • Ability to multi-task and remain organized in a fast-paced environment while maintaining emphasis on details and planning.
  • Strong customer service skills, and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Ability to travel within San Diego and Imperial counties several times a month.
  • Must have a current CA Driver License, current car insurance, and reliable transportation.

Salary Range: $24.00 - $25.00 per hour.
