Role Description:
This is a full-time position for a Wine Director at Casa Mono & Bar Jamon located on the corner of E17th Street and Irving Place just east of Union Square.
The Wine Director will be responsible for leading an award-winning Spanish wine list, managing daily and quarterly wine sales, staff education, customer service, sommelier duties, conducting wine tastings, conducting monthly ticketed wine classes, and managing the Floor.
The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong leadership skills, and a passion for hospitality.
They will positively lead and inspire the service team, creating a collaborative work environment and culture around wine.
Oversee and continue to curate and invest in the wine program.
Manage budgets, perform financial reporting, and ensure profitability through cost control and revenue enhancement.
Maintain the highest standards of quality assurance, hospitality, and guest satisfaction.
Employee tracking and management
Compliance with OSHA, local health and safety codes, as well as company policies
Desired Qualifications:
Strong knowledge and expertise in wine education
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Certification or degree in sommelier studies or related field
Passion for wine and a strong understanding of Spanish wine varietals and regions
Efficient in OpenTable
