Sarvoham Animal Foundation is a dedicated non-profit organization committed to the rescue and rehabilitation of sick and injured street animals in India. Our mission is to provide immediate medical care, shelter, and rehabilitation to animals in need, ensuring they receive a second chance at life. Sarvoham Animal Foundation supports Sarvoham India, a grassroots initiative making a significant impact on animal welfare.

Role Summary:
As a Board of Director representing Sarvoham Animal Foundation in the United States, you will play a crucial role in guiding the organization’s strategic direction, enhancing its visibility, and supporting fundraising efforts. This is a pro-bono position ideal for individuals passionate about animal welfare and looking to make a tangible difference in the lives of vulnerable animals.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Governance and Oversight:
• Provide leadership and oversight to ensure the organization’s activities align with its mission and values.
• Participate in the development and approval of organizational policies and strategic plans.
• Monitor the organization’s financial health, ensuring transparency and accountability.

2. Fundraising and Development:
• Lead and support fundraising initiatives to secure financial resources necessary for the foundation’s operations and programs.
• Cultivate relationships with potential donors, sponsors, and partners in the US.
• Assist in organizing and promoting fundraising events and campaigns.

3. Advocacy and Outreach:
• Represent Sarvoham Animal Foundation at events, conferences, and in media appearances to enhance the organization’s profile in the US.
• Advocate for animal welfare issues and the foundation’s mission to various stakeholders.
• Engage with community leaders, volunteers, and other non-profits to build a supportive network.

4. Strategic Planning:
• Collaborate with the board to establish long-term goals and strategies for growth and impact.
• Evaluate and recommend new programs, partnerships, and initiatives to advance the foundation’s mission.

5. Compliance and Risk Management:
• Ensure the organization adheres to legal and ethical standards.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks to the foundation’s operations and reputation.

Qualifications:
• Proven experience in non-profit leadership, governance, or a related field.
• Excellent communication and public speaking abilities.
• Deep commitment to animal welfare and the mission of Sarvoham Animal Foundation.
• Ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans.

Commitment:
• Attend monthly or quarterly board meetings (virtually) and participate in committee meetings as needed.
• Serve a term of 2 years, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and mutual agreement.
