You’ll also work closely with senior leadership to design and manage competitive total rewards programs that attract, retain, and motivate top talent at Yelp. The Vice President of Total Rewards will report directly to Yelp’s Chief People Officer and have regular interactions with senior leadership and Yelp’s Board of Directors.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive total rewards strategy aligned with Yelp's objectives and values, ensuring that it supports employees who execute Yelp’s mission to connect people to great local businesses.
  • Own content planning and delivery for key agenda items at the Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors.
  • Provide information and context so that Compensation Committee members have information to make relevant decisions related to executive compensation.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of competitive compensation programs, including base pay, variable pay, equity incentives, and executive compensation.
  • Oversee the administration and enhancement of employee benefits programs, including health, wellness, retirement, and leave of absence - ensuring they meet the diverse needs of our remote workforce.
  • Drive the Global Mobility strategy and roadmap to ensure our international assignment, immigration, relocation and tax policies and practices are aligned with the business and talent strategy as well as desired employee experience for a remote workforce.
  • Execute Yelp’s equity programs, including driving process improvements and streamlining operations. Regularly collaborate with HR, Payroll, Finance and Legal to ensure end-to-end administration of the Company's equity plans, including RSU & PSU grants, option exercises, ESPP administration.
  • Utilize data analytics and benchmarking to make informed decisions about the total rewards evolving landscape, regularly reviewing and adjusting programs to remain competitive.
  • Ensure that all compensation and benefits programs comply with relevant laws and regulations, and maintain strong governance practices.
  • Partner with recruitment teams to develop compelling total rewards packages that attract top talent, and with HR to create retention strategies.
  • Develop communication strategies to educate employees about the value of their total rewards and provide guidance on making informed decisions.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors, consultants, and benefit providers to ensure the delivery of high-quality services.
  • Lead and mentor a team of total reward professionals, fostering their growth and development.
  • Serve as a key member of the People Operations Leadership team, ensuring Yelp’s total rewards programs support the organization’s overarching human capital strategy.
  • Regularly partner and communicate with Yelp’s executive team on strategic total rewards initiatives, keeping them informed and engaged in key decisions.

What It Takes To Succeed

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field; Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CCP, CBP) preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in compensation and benefits, including operational delivery, with a track record of success in scaling organizations.
  • Strong understanding of global compensation and benefits practices, regulations, and market trends.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights. Comfortable with new technologies and tools.
  • Strong leadership, team management and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience developing compelling storylines and presenting to senior leadership and Board of Directors.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Is flexible with a growth mindset. Comfortable working in an ambiguous environment.

  • Compensation range for this position is $250,000 - $325,000 annually. You may also be offered a bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits.
