Job Description
The VP of Engineering will lead and guide a skilled engineering team in the creation and development of natural gas fueled combined cycle power plants.
Responsibilities include guiding the design and technical feasibility of greenfield project origination and development, along with all technical due diligence on prospective natural gas fueled combined cycle and peaking project acquisitions.
The VP of Engineering will play a significant role in leading an efficient engineering team responsible for providing technical support across the company's operational assets. Additionally, the VP of Engineering will be involved in strategic project selection, ensuring a discerning approach to clients and projects while refraining from pursuing public RFPs.
Responsibilities
The VP of Engineering actively oversees and provides strategic direction the engineering team, including but not limited to the following:
Build and lead a top-tier natural gas fueled combine cycle engineering team, prioritizing project quality and deployment efficiency in collaboration with company leadership.
Serve as the expert in thermal power generation technologies.
Support business development and estimating by conducting project specification reviews.
Contract and coordinate external engineering consultants, oversee project kickoffs, and lead drawing reviews to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
Establish a culture of continuous improvement for enhanced company efficiency and engineering quality, including the optimization of current team processes.
Define processes, metrics, and resource allocation across programs to align with strategic goals and provide necessary technical training.
Lead technical due diligence for M&A activities, advise on asset upgrades and capital improvements, and maintain cost assessments for new builds.
Qualifications
Minimum of 15 years of experience in energy sector engineering design, management, or operations.
A minimum of 5 years of experience with combustion turbine and/or reciprocating engine design, construction, and operations.
Experience building, leading, and developing highly efficient engineering teams.
Preferred Professional Engineer (PE) License.
Holds a Bachelor's degree in Engineering
Possesses 8-10 years of experience in energy industries
