We are looking for a passionate Transportation Sustainability Consultant to join our team. You will lead and support various projects aimed at reducing transportation emissions, developing decarbonization strategies, and promoting transportation electrification and alternative fuels. Your work will involve analyzing emission reduction strategies, assessing costs and benefits, developing policy recommendations, researching industry trends, and creating reports and presentations.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze and Model: Lead or support the analysis of strategies and scenarios to reduce greenhouse gas and pollutant emissions in the transportation sector.
Research: Conduct and interpret research to support planning studies.
Program Development: Develop recommendations for new or improved programs to support public transit, active transportation, shared mobility, and transportation demand management strategies.
Forecasting: Develop and analyze forecasts related to zero-emission vehicle sales, market penetration, and the use of conventional and alternative fuels.
Communications and Outreach: Create and deploy communication, outreach, and training resources, including case studies, webinars, presentations, and in-person events.
Client Interaction: Engage with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in transportation, urban planning, environmental studies, energy, public policy, or a related field.
At least 2 years of professional experience in sustainable transportation.
Foundational knowledge of VMT reduction strategies and decarbonization.
Proficiency in statistical and analytical tools, particularly Microsoft Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in transportation, urban planning, environmental studies, energy, public policy, or a similar field.
Over 3 years of professional experience in sustainable transportation.
Advanced knowledge in VMT reduction strategies and decarbonization.
Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or R.
