We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Tennis Professional to join our team and deliver exceptional tennis experiences to our members and guests. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality tennis instruction and customer service, catering to individuals of all ages and skill levels. As a Tennis Professional, you will be responsible for conducting various tennis programs such as clinics, private lessons, tournaments, and holiday camps. You will assess students' abilities, develop personalized training plans, and impart game strategies to enhance their skills and performance. Under the supervision of the Tennis Director, the Tennis Professional will assist in organizing and implementing training programs, evaluating athletes, and preparing them for competitive matches. Compensation is hourly plus commission.
The position does not include provided housing and transportation.
Expectations And Essential Duties
Strong passion for the sport of tennis
Provides beginner through advanced level tennis instruction (private and group)
Perform opening and closing shifts as required by the schedule
Certification from the United States Professional Tennis Association or Professional Tennis Registry is beneficial
Assists in the promotion of and conducts tennis clinics, private lessons, special events, camps and programs to attract and maintain members’/guests’ tennis participation and interests
Develops safe, professional, and comprehensive tennis lessons and programs to ensure students develop along a pathway that will encourage continued involvement in tennis
Enforces all club rules and regulations governing the use of the club/facility, its equipment and other property
Learn how to and perform racquet stringing
Quickly and efficiently responds to member/guest questions, comments, and concerns
Regular and reliable attendance
Is an ambassador for the company and always demonstrates a positive attitude and actions through a display of courtesy, service, cooperation, hospitality, sensitivity and professionalism
Learns how to use the POS system and follow all charging procedures and attendance roster procedures
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the pro shop and courts
Embraces, engages and follows companywide programming set forward
Provide technical expertise on tennis equipment, supplies and other pro shop items to members & guests
Performs other duties as required
Education/Experience
Demonstrated track record in the role of Tennis Professional or Instructor
Physical Demands
Frequently stands, walks, uses hands, talks, hears, reaches with hands and arms, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls. Occasionally sits. Regularly lifts up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.
Environment/Noise
Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions. The noise level is moderate.
Job Knowledge, Skill, And Ability Preferences
Ability to read and speak English may be required to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the staff may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment used are in English)
Skill level equivalent to a minimum 4.0 USTA rating
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have basic computer and email skills.
