Nba China Company Overview

The National Basketball Association (NBA) is a global sports and media business built around three professional sports leagues: the National Basketball Association, the Women’s National Basketball Association and the NBA G League. The league has established a major international presence with games and programming in 215 countries and territories in 50 languages, and NBA merchandise for sale in more than 125,000 stores in 100 countries on 6 continents. NBA rosters at the start of the 2017-18 season featured 108 international players from a record 42 countries and territories. NBA Digital’s assets include NBA TV, NBA.com, NBA App and NBA League Pass. The NBA has created one of the largest social media communities in the world, with 1.4 billion likes and followers globally across all leagues, team, and player platforms. Through NBA Cares, the league addresses important social issues by working with internationally recognized youth-serving organizations that support education, youth and family development, and health-related causes. NBA China is the NBA’s entity that conducts all of the league’s businesses in mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau. NBA China ‘s key business lines are: content creation and media distribution, social media, MCN and KOLs/influencers, membership and engagement, sponsorship and marketing, merchandising, events and branded attractions. NBA China was formed in January 2008 after its first office opened in Hong Kong in 1992. NBA China currently has relationships with a strong network of television and digital media outlets, including Tencent, PCCW Viu TV, Videoland and a partnership of more than 30 years with the Chinese national broadcaster CCTV, as well as presence on social media platforms including Weibo and Kuaishou. The league has sponsorship partnerships with a combination of worldclass Chinese based corporations and U.S.-based multinationals such as Nike, SAP, ExxonMobil, Vivo, Mengniu Dairy. In 2004, the NBA became the first American professional sports league to play games in China. NBA licensed apparel and footwear are available through retail stores in Mainland China and Taiwan, and authorized online stores on e-commerce and social media platforms, including NBAStore.cn, Tmall.com, JD.com, NBAStore.hk and NBAStore.tw. In 2016, NBA China opened the first ever NBA Playzone in the world

Position Summary

As part of the team responsible for the development and execution of NBAX tech team, you oversee building and optimizing the NBA APP and other DTC features to enhance user experience and promote the improvement of key performance indicators. You are responsible for exploring AIGC technology and other cutting-edge tech and their implementation in NBA scenarios, including but not limited to content production (articles, images, videos), private knowledge bases, and AI intelligent agents. You will work collaboratively with all NBA China departments and external prospects.

Major Responsibilities

  • Technical Architecture: Design and oversee the technical architecture of the company's products and systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Project Management: Manage technical projects from conception to completion, including planning, execution, and delivery, while adhering to timelines and budgets.
  • Innovation and Research: Stay abreast of the latest industry trends and technologies, and drive innovation within the team to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams such as product management, design, and sales to ensure technical feasibility and alignment with business requirements.
  • Problem Solving: Tackle complex technical challenges and provide solutions that are efficient, effective, and aligned with best practices.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential technical risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on projects and operations.
  • Compliance and Security: Ensure that all technical solutions comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and security protocols.

Required Skills/Knowledge

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science or related fields.
  • Over 8 years of experience in tech positions, with excellent engineering capabilities.
  • Familiar with mainstream large language models, as well as optimization solutions for their use such as Prompt Engineering, RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), and Fine Tuning. Capable of integrating engineering techniques for implementation in relevant scenarios.
  • Proficient in mainstream recommendation algorithms, machine learning, and deep learning; with solid experience in data analysis and feature engineering. Preference will be given to those with practical experience in large-scale recommendation products in internet companies.
  • Experience with big data, familiar with the Hadoop ecosystem, Apache Spark, and related components. Knowledge of big data solutions on cloud platforms such as Alibaba Cloud.
