About The Position - Systems/IT Architect Manager Sr.

If you answered yes to the above questions, the Systems/IT Architect Manager Sr. (AI engineer) position at the Georgia Tech¿s AI Hub, Tech AI, may be a great fit for you.
As an AI engineer, you will work alongside the Tech AI leadership team, students, staff, faculty, Georgia Tech¿s Partnership for an Advanced Computing Environment (PACE) team, and other Georgia Tech and non-Georgia Tech personnel to develop and deploy proof-of-concept software that turns ideas or existing models into pilots and viable products. You will lead and manage several crucial proof-of-concept software applications from start to finish, which includes the software design (visualizations, dashboards, and animations), engineering (including continuous AI data pipelines, digital twins, organization, process analysis, software optimization, data manipulation, and executing, evaluating, or retraining the models as needed), deployment, documentation, maintenance, and testing of these applications. All of these tasks could be computed locally, on PACE ¿s High Performance Computing (HPC) clusters, or in the cloud.

Job Summary
Manage and coordinate the conceptualizing, planning, designing, and implementing of complete and integrated information technology solutions on a campus-wide basis. Serve as a recognized subject matter expert in information technology architecture and related technologies. Responsible for setting employee goals, assessing performance, providing feedback, and making pay recommendations. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: IT leadership and staff, user department management and staff. This position typically will advise and counsel: IT leadership and staff, user department management and staff. This position will supervise: technical support staff.

Lead projects of critical importance in areas of enterprise systems, networking, security or overall IT architecture.

Direct high profile programs involving formulation of strategy and administration of polices, process and resources..

May seek project funding from outside sources.

Use expert concepts and broad objectives to resolve most complex system issues.
Job Duty 5 -
Serve as steward of campus overall IT architecture.
Job Duty 6 -
Confer with outside experts (community, professional groups, vendors, solution providers, etc) in resolution of complex issues.
Job Duty 7 -
Provide expert leadership and guidance to technical support staff.

Perform other duties as assigned
Educational Requirements
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
Required Experience
Eight years job related experience

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
This job requires campus, national or international expertise in systems and IT architecture involving multiple technological areas of high criticality and skills and ability to resolve the most complex problems within that domain. Skills involving developing solutions with little or no precedents are also required.
