Rockstar

Strategy & Operations Leader

Rockstar New York, NY

Rockstar has been retained to recruit for a fast-growing, well-funded, early-stage company. Our client is on a mission to make life happier and healthier for the 8 million autistic adults in the US. Autism prevalence is up >5x in the last 25 years, but autistic adults have been ignored by the traditional support and service system. This has contributed to alarmingly poor outcomes across mental and physical health, and vocational and social measures for autistic adults. Our client is changing this by building a holistic suite of supports for autistic and neurodivergent adults. As our initial offering, we deliver best-in-class, specialized mental health services for autistic adults, covered by insurance.

They have reached multiple millions of annualized revenue in just over a year, and are growing their team to help scale services to millions of autistic adults nationwide.

The Role

You are stepping into a unique role - the company has significant traction, and you will play a pivotal role in creating their foundation as they build an enduring business. Your work will span across all dimensions of the business. You will:

  • Collaborate closely with the CEO, founding team, clients, and clinicians to take operational processes 0 to 1, and develop a playbook to turn process into scalable functions
  • Support the early team in building culture and recruiting high-performing team-members
  • Be a driving force of execution! There is a never ending list of things for them to do right now - this role will require you to tackle them with energy, often taking the initiative beyond explicit directives
  • Here are a few examples of things you might work on over the next few months:
    • Work with their Chief Clinical Officer to develop measures for clinical outcomes and develop operational processes for collecting these outcomes
    • Create a process to better identify clinical capacity shortages and identify hiring needs
    • Build out KPI dashboards for the team to have visibility on the business
    • Analyze the client journey and identify key levers to reduce drop-off points and ensure more seamless care
About You

  • 4-6+ years of experience in consulting, investment banking, startups, or a similar role
  • Excited by the early stage (you will be one of the first 10 employees), which means working in a high degree of ambiguity with a strong ability to take ownership and operate independently
  • Analytical, data-oriented, first-principled thinker who is able to communicate opinions clearly, and willing to be convinced otherwise through thoughtful discourse
  • Gritty, scrappy, and resilient, with a strong bias for action
  • Motivated to do good and be great

More About The Company

The team: They are building a world class team of creative, thoughtful problem-solvers, and pairing them with subject-matter experts from our field (e.g., clinicians, autistic self-advocates). The operations team is concentrated in New York and consists of members from places such as Bain, Charlie Health, SeatGeek, Harvard, Northwestern, Dartmouth, Vanderbilt, Yale, and more.

The culture:

  • Clients first - when making decisions, we optimize for our clients; we stay extremely close to our community so we know their needs better than anyone
  • Honesty and transparency - startups run into trouble when they delude themselves from reality; we are honest with ourselves and with each other in pursuit of our mission
  • Desire to win - our work is hard, and we want people that are excited by conquering great challenges
  • Enjoy the journey - have fun with each other and enjoy the day to day moments
  • Growth mindset - we will not get everything right the first time, but we seek feedback, we iterate, and we improve
  • Prefer to work in-person in NYC (but open to virtual for the right candidate)
