About The Role & Team

eBay's Managed Analysis & Performance (MAP) team partners with Finance and Analytics teams to elevate planning and reporting in how the business story is told and delivered through intelligent design, efficient data integration, and new technologies. We flourish with providing quality data with best-in-class solutions to drive optimal business decisions.

eBay is seeking a dedicated leader to help implement a new financial planning system. This role will lead the Anaplan model-building/support team within Finance and collaborate multi-functionally to deliver dynamic planning models. This role is uniquely positioned to quickly learn the technology, data and financial structure within eBay and be at the forefront of our FP&A Transformation.

To be successful, you should be an Anaplan expert, skilled in model building, data integration, process design and implementation. You should also have solid experience in both project and change management with relevant finance competence.

What You Will Accomplish

  • Deliver effective, adopted financial planning models through efficient design sessions, and collaboration with business, IT and offshore teams.
  • Lead a team of model builders, Business Systems Analysts, and FP&A systems support staff to successfully train, test and implement new capabilities to support critical initiatives, evolving business processes and continuous improvement. Guide team on Master Data Management and FP&A user support.
  • Partner with business and IT collaborators on system improvements, sprint tracking, standard processes, data integrations, system upgrades, and issue resolution
  • Ensure compliance with financial internal controls. Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with Anaplan models and processes.
  • Develop a roadmap and backlog for Financial Planning platforms and systems. Lead projects that deliver improvements across FP&A systems and related processes.
  • Regularly determine capacity and level of effort for model build and enhancements, and coordinate with key leadership to determine priorities.

What You Will Bring

Candidates for this position must have a minimum of 10 years of progressive Finance or Technology experience with at least 5 years of meaningful experience building, supporting, and implementing financial planning systems and team leadership experience. Experience must demonstrate knowledge in Agile Project Management, Change Management, process design, and requirements gathering. Candidate must be a highly motivated self-starter and possess the following:

  • Expertise in Anaplan model building, business analysis, data integration methods, and reporting. Ability to identify, develop and implement process/system improvements.
  • Solid experience leading model builders, engineers or BSAs, and an ability to work well with all levels of an organization.
  • Customer focus and the ability to successfully collaborate in a multi-functional / matrix environment, including using corporate and third-party resources.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, and experience applying these skills to resolve operational finance process and system challenges in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Bachelors or Masters in a finance, business or technology field is required.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below.

$168,400 - $262,900

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
