Sr Director of Internal Manufacturing Process Technology

Job Description

Renesas is currently seeking a Senior Director of Internal Manufacturing Process Technology to lead internal manufacturing process technology program management organization. Define, deploy and manage PM methodology as it relates to internal manufacturing project plan consisting of new technology development, process improvements and technology license of transfer in/out. Collaborate closely with process technology team members to identify robust project plans, risk mitigations and ability to deliver multi-year complex programs on-time. Report to stakeholders' project status and action plans including business units and key customers reliant upon the technologies. Leverage problem solving skills to resolve technical and schedule challenges. Use PM techniques to proactively identify key risks and mitigation plans. Establish continuous improvement plans to enhance team performance. Be able to effectively communicate with manufacturing teams in Japan and product line chip development personnel in the United States and Europe. Participate in business and schedule planning with outside wafer foundries for technology licensing projects.

About Operations Engineering Division (OED): OED is the central team that supports all Business Unit Design and Development teams, and other organizations including Sales, Marketing, Business Operations, Foundry Operations, and Test. OED provides a platform for managing all process technology and PDK development for both Internal and External Foundry processes. This strong and highly qualified team (mostly MS/PhD) adds strength in developing Test Technology, Foundry Operations, and Yield management. Our world class contributions lead to aggressive NPI strategies and continual cost and gross margin improvements.

Qualifications

  • Program manage new technologies being deployed within Renesas internal wafer fabs and achieve related KPI
  • Interface among Ops teams (including Internal Manufacturing, Process Technology, PDK Development), Quality and Product Groups to ensure technology availability does not gate tape-outs, customer sampling, mass production release
  • Drive internal and external Manufacturing organizations to ensure required quality and on-time delivery.
  • Define, develop, and execute plans of record, including schedules, deliverables, and risks.
  • Use verbal and written communication skills to convey complex and/or detailed information to multiple individuals/audiences with differing knowledge levels. May require strong negotiation and powers of influence.
  • Exercise creativity to innovate new processes and procedures to achieve established objectives.
  • Manage program metrics and identify when they deviate significantly from Plan of Record.
  • Escalate issues in a timely manner and propose on corrective actions
  • Maintain skills to ensure competence to perform assigned responsibilities.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, function-related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 20+ years’ experience working in semiconductor process technology technical management
  • Demonstrated performance in process tech enablement activities include program plan, module development, process flow establishment and qualification, device characterization, process and product qualification
