About the role:

As Senior Director, FP&A at Crownpeak, you will play a crucial role in guiding the financial strategy, decision-making, and planning for our organization. The ideal candidate is a highly analytical and self-motivated professional with exceptional financial acumen, modeling skills, and a proven track record in strategic financial leadership.


FP&A is a critical function for Crownpeak. This role will be the Key leader of the FP&A team at Crownpeak and the right hand to the CFO playing a leadership role in shaping the Finance team and standing up and effective FP&A practice. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, and working closely with the executive team you will set the foundation of the FP&A organization and develop over time the team, processes, and systems that will allow the company to continue to scale in a financially sound way for the years to come. You will drive strategic decision-making by improving visibility into business performance, leveraging data-driven insights to shape Crownpeak’s exit strategy. You’ll manage financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting for the company and directly be driving all key business decisions including the exit of the organization and managing information shared to cultivate lender relationships with the CFO.


You should be passionate about building and scaling functions from the ground up. Despite having FP&A responsibilities at Crownpeak in the past, this is your opportunity to relook at what good looks like and stand up an organization that provides the appropriate level of service and visibility to the executive team and board while performing the basic functions of forecasting, budgeting, analysis, modeling and reporting for Crownpeak. The candidate needs to understand the KPI’s in a software technology space and has a keen interest in aligning with executives to make the necessary changes. This candidate needs to come in to the role already with some expectations of what good looks like in a finance function and also in a software technology business for KPI’s, etc.


Responsibilities:

  • Own budgeting, forecasting, scenario planning, ROI analyses, Budget vs. Actuals, and key strategic metrics
  • Lead the company’s annual financial planning process supported by a detailed bottoms-up financial model including P&L, cash flow, and balance sheet projections
  • Build and own bottoms-up operating model which includes bookings and associated topline, cash collections, cost of sales, etc.
  • Identify and track business and departmental KPIs, uncover trends and assess current and future business risks and opportunities
  • Utilize deep analytical skills to extract valuable insights from financial data, market trends, and industry benchmarks to inform strategic decisions
  • Establish a monthly/quarterly reporting package, and lead the preparation of presentation materials for the Executive team and Board
  • Collaborate effectively cross-functionally to provide guidance and facilitate financial integration across the organization
  • Establish on-going improvement of FP&A processes and implementation of tools to enable automation and improve efficiencies
  • Align closely with accounting colleagues to analyze results and provide recommendations on best practices for review and analysis with in accounting and finance.
  • Experience with exits in private equity environment
  • Experience with business partnering with executives, CEO/CFO and board members.
  • Comfortable with establishing strong efficient process and driving necessary change for the business.
  • Strong acumen with navigating data to identify and tell the story.


Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of professional experience, including private equity owned software technology experience
  • Fundamental understanding of SaaS, subscription, and usage-based business model metrics
  • Expert Excel skills; able to build complex financial models from scratch including full P&L, balance sheet and cashflow forecasting
  • Strategic thinker, with a detail and process-oriented way of working
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, manipulate, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to multitask, work independently, think critically and problem solve structurally in an ever-changing fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environment
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with excellent and proven cross-functional and business partnering skills
  • Experience with company systems including ERP and CRM systems, familiarity to navigate through Net Suite
  • Experience in identifying and implementing strong processes that support strong financial acumen and visibility to results.
