Job Summary

As the Sr. Director of Digital Technologies at the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technological landscape of our ultra-luxury hospitality at sea. In this leadership role, you will deliver excellence in our digital platforms, including guest-facing websites, travel agent portal, guest and crew-facing mobile applications, the company’s intranet, and other internal systems. You will partner with the senior/executive management team to establish strategic and operational processes while ensuring IT initiatives achieve business goals by fostering innovation, prioritizing initiatives, and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future projects. Strong technical background and hands-on experience in building Digital Web Applications, Mobile Applications, and developing eCommerce Capabilities are fundamental for success in this role.

Essential Functions

• Lead and manage Digital Technology functions (Engineering and Operations) focused on both strategic and operational business needs and initiatives within the Ritz Carlton Yacht Collection.
• Co-develop and implement digital strategies to enhance guest experiences and drive business growth.
• Oversee the selection, development, deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and enhancement of the company’s digital technology platform and applications.
• Oversees all aspects of interactive development, including CMS development, front-end development, dev ops, server architecture and maintenance, and security strategy.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business goals and objectives.
• Establish service level agreements and monitor progress toward key service delivery performance indicators (KPI’s) or metrics.
• Drive focus on operational excellence throughout the organization & partners, including (but not limited to) processes, governance, efficient working approaches, collaboration.
• Owns the digital technology platform implementation lifecycle and 24x7 operational support.
• Collect, measure, report, and communicate progress with Ritz Carlton Yacht Collection’s Executive Leadership Team, as well as stakeholders in other areas of the business as necessary.
• Collaborate with IT leadership on the evaluation, allocation, and management of Digital Technology assets, including budget and strategic planning.
• Lead a team of digital professionals, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to foster an engaged work environment with a focus on excellent customer service.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
• Manage relationships with external vendors and partners to ensure the successful delivery of digital projects.
• Manage departmental budgets and expenditures.
  
  

Skills And Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in digital technologies and software development
• Proven track record of successfully leading digital teams and digital projects
• Extensive knowledge of web applications, programming languages, and web services — including API, CSS3, HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery, PHP, security principles, REST, SOAP, and web user interface design
• Proficiency with Marketing Technologies including Content Management Systems, Digital Asset Management systems, AB Testing Tools, etc.
• Strong SEO understanding
• Proven track record in mobile development for both iOS (Swift or Objective-C) and Android (Java or Kotlin) platforms
• Experience with popular mobile development frameworks such as React Native, Flutter, or Xamarin. Ability to assess and recommend the most suitable framework based on project requirements
• Knowledge of cross-platform development strategies and tools to create apps that run seamlessly on multiple platforms
• Understanding of mobile app architecture patterns such as MVC, MVP, MVVM, and Clean Architecture. Ability to design and implement scalable and maintainable mobile applications
• Understanding of best practices in development operations and code deployment approaches
• Extensive experience in agile development methodology
• Understanding of best practices to minimize digital security vulnerabilities
• Strong experience in technology planning, project planning, and team leadership, as well as establishing and managing service measures to ensure organizational effectiveness.
• Proven experience in project leadership, communications at different levels, conflict resolution, planning, organization, documentation, and management.
  
  

Work Environment

• Hybrid, working in a typical office environment.
• Approximately 10-15% travel, including working at shipyards, and working aboard our cruise ships.
• Ability to travel internationally is a must, requiring a valid passport and work authorization for the United States.
