JOB SUMMARY To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

This pivotal role will oversee and manage our contract manufacturing partnerships.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Relationship Building:
    • Build a strong, mutually beneficial relationship with our contract manufacturers to create collaboration, trust, and long-term success. This involves regular communication, understanding their challenges, and working together to solve problems.
    • Vendor Management: Conduct regular performance reviews, negotiate contracts, and manage all aspects of the manufacturing partnership.
    • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all products manufactured meet our quality standards. Implement quality control processes, conduct regular audits, and work closely with manufacturers to address any quality issues.
    • Performance Metrics and Evaluation: Set up key performance indicators (KPIs) to regularly evaluate the co- manufacturer's performance. This includes metrics on quality, delivery timeliness, cost, and service.
    • Cost Management: Monitor and manage manufacturing costs. Develop standard cost of goods and review and resolve production variances. Work with contract manufacturers to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising on quality. Strive to ensure lowest delivered cost for both turnkey and tolling scenarios.
    • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives in manufacturing processes, aiming for higher efficiency, reduced waste, and better product quality.
    • Clear Communication: Maintain open and transparent communication channels with our contract manufacturers. This includes clear documentation of product specifications, changes, timelines, and expectations
    • Operations and Supply Chain Collaboration


    • Compliance and Regulations: Ensure that all manufacturing processes comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. Keep abreast of changes in regulations that may impact manufacturing.
    • Supply Chain Coordination: Work closely with the supply chain and demand management teams to ensure appropriate inventory levels, timely delivery of materials to contract manufacturers and on time delivery of finished goods to distribution centers or customers.
    • Production Planning and Scheduling: Collaborate with Supply Planners and contract manufacturers to develop production schedules that meet our inventory requirements while optimizing costs and efficiency. Communicate forecasts and monitor available capacity and constraints at contract manufacturer.
    • Strategic Development


    • Project management: Lead production setup for new contract manufacturers, new products, component changes and process improvements. Support marketing and R&D with sourcing new and alternate production facilities for both new and existing products.
    • Risk Management: Identify potential risks in the Supply Chain and manufacturing process and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
    • Continuity Planning: Have a clear continuity plan & exit strategy in place for all manufactured products. This includes understanding the terms of disengagement, transition plans for our products, and ensuring we have access to all necessary documentation and materials. Identify and analyze sourcing alternatives for current products.
    • Monitoring supplier delivery and operational performance and leading corrective action efforts in conjunction with CM counterparts to address gaps
    • Managing communication of key disruptions, recovery plans and supply implications with Executive leadership, in partnership with Integrated Planning
    • Overseeing key industrial transfer activity, including sourcing programs both at tier-1 and lower-tier supply chain partners to ensure alignment with operational plans
    • Working together with finance, procurement and engineering to underpin annual productivity targets and ensure alignment of funnel activity at CM partner and within AngioDynamics, including managing plan changes and deviations
    • Acting as the primary voice of CM partners in AngioDynamics Integrated Supply Chain forums
    • Manage external spend budget for activities executed at AngioDynamics’ contract manufacturers; ensure accuracy of accruals, invoices, purchase orders and budget forecasting by serving as the functional liaison with the FP&A Business Partner.
    • Establish governance structures that facilitate timely, open communication with contract manufacturing partners and internal stakeholders and the successful delivery of services.
    • Lead the contract manufacturing selection process in collaboration with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with the long-term clinical and commercial manufacturing strategies across all nodes of the supply chain; includes developing and negotiating development, technology transfer, and manufacturing/supply contracts.
    • Ensure product integrity by monitoring cGMP compliance at contract manufacturing partners by implementing and conducting regularly scheduled Quality Business Reviews (QBRs) and by tracking standard Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
    • Identify business risks and implement appropriate risk mitigations.
    • Recruit and develop talent for the newly formed External Manufacturing Function to ensure the business needs of the organization are met.
    • Develop and manage key senior business partnerships to develop strategic multi-year vision and plans that maximize the value of supplier partnerships to enable business objectives.
    • Lead through example to ensure the strategic sourcing organization brings an enterprise lens and effective cross functional sourcing teams across the value chain with high levels of influence and leadership to be strategic business partners.
    • Owns overall team development and skill building focusing on “soft” skills (effective business partnering, influence, enterprise thinking, communication, active listening, executive presence), business skills, and “hard” sourcing skills.
    • Ensures team members can support the Business Owner with identification of all applicable risks as part of the Sourcing process, including coordination with Risk Subject Matter Experts to properly assess and develop mitigation plans, where necessary, ensuring a high level of business resiliency across the supply base
    • Champion supplier diversity and sustainability solutions to drive company and business outcomes
    • Ensures RFx process are effectively conducted by team members including, but not limited to, the development of the requirements, drafting RFP documents, facilitation of team meetings and vendor sessions, negotiation of terms and pricing with the vendors, and ultimately supporting the execution of Supplier Agreements.
    • Develops value delivery plans, goals, and metrics with the business linked to business objectives including articulating relevant value beyond savings targets such as innovation, simplification, urgency etc. as well as annual cost savings targets, in collaboration with Business Partners and Finance, within their specific category(ies) and is accountable for successful achievement.
    • Supports the negotiation planning process and may personally get involved with complex negotiations as needed, including alignment with Business Partners and Legal.
    • Strong partnership with P2P team and Strategic Sourcing CoE to operationalize category strategies and sourcing outcomes across the strategy to payment E2E process, enable a simplified user experience, and drive continuous improvement opportunities.
    • Champion the leverage of procurement tools and processes to enable consistency, simplification, and sustainability of strategic sourcing enablement to the business.
    • May perform other duties as assigned


    QUALIFICATIONSThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill or ability required.

    Education And Experience

    • Bachelor's Level of Degree in the Supply Chain or Related field of study
    • 10 to 15 years of demonstrated experience in Purchasing/Supply Chain/Contract Manufacturing
    • Any preferred education, experience or certifications: APICS

    • Proven track record of developing long-term capabilities in others and across a global organization, to develop best-in-class teams and sharing talent across the organization.
    • Strong relationship-management skills and ability to communicate effectively, and collaborate with, senior-to-exec management. You need to be able to tell compelling stories through insights and data.
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively navigate and lead others in an ambiguous environment to achieve high levels of performance and deliver sustainable value to the organization by holding yourself and others accountable.
    • In-depth understanding of the multiple direct materials and corporate services categories; deep industry and/or professional relationships with suppliers and agencies.
    • Deep understanding of how corporate services plays into the overall benefits and value proposition of an organization.
    • Proficient in the following computer software applications: Microsoft Applications

    • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
    • Ability to effectively communication both internally and externally
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance, instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
