The Role
We're searching for a passionate and experienced Underwriter to join our team at the co-founder level. You'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our company by building robust credit evaluation processes, ensuring responsible risk management, and contributing valuable insights to our strategic direction.
Responsibilities
Craft the Foundation: Develop and implement comprehensive credit evaluation processes for loan underwriting, leveraging AI tools for enhanced accuracy and efficiency.
Master of Risk: Conduct thorough risk assessments to evaluate loan applicants' creditworthiness and develop effective risk mitigation strategies.
Underwriting Expertise: Oversee loan underwriting, ensuring adherence to industry standards and company policies. Make informed decisions on loan approvals and rejections.
Policy Champion: Create and refine underwriting policies and guidelines to align with regulations and best practices.
Data-Driven Decisions: Analyze credit data and trends to gain valuable insights for improving underwriting processes and minimizing risk.
Collaborative Spirit: Work closely with cross-functional teams (product, engineering, AI) to integrate underwriting criteria seamlessly into the platform.
Compliance Champion: Ensure all underwriting activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
The Customer Focus: Engage with clients to understand their needs and provide clear communication regarding credit decisions, fostering trust and satisfaction.
Strategic Influence: Contribute to the overall strategic direction of the company by offering credit-related insights and recommendations to the leadership team.
You're a Perfect Fit If You Have
5-10 Years of Experience: Extensive experience in loan underwriting, preferably within a consumer or credit company.
Credit Guru: Strong background in credit evaluation, risk assessment, and loan underwriting processes. Understanding of Web3 and Crypto a plus.
Leadership Acumen: Proven leadership abilities with experience in a co-founder or senior management role.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications a plus.

Compensation & Benefits
Competitive salary range: $180,000 - $200,000 per year
Equity compensation: 1%-5%
