Senior Construction Superintendent - Multi-Family Projects (New York)

My client is seeking a seasoned and results-oriented Senior Construction Superintendent to join their team and oversee multi-family residential projects in the dynamic New York market. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations on-site, ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities:

• Provide overall leadership and direction for assigned multi-family construction projects.
• Manage all aspects of construction activities, including scheduling, quality control, safety, and manpower.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive project plan, including budget, schedule, and manpower allocation.
• Conduct daily site inspections and ensure strict adherence to building codes, safety regulations, and project specifications.
• Oversee quality control measures and identify and resolve construction defects promptly.
• Manage and maintain clear communication with all project stakeholders.
• Track project progress and report on key metrics to project management.
• Manage and mitigate project risks and unforeseen challenges.
• Proactively identify and implement cost-saving measures.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and inspectors.
• Oversee document control and maintain accurate project documentation.
• Ensure a safe and productive work environment for all personnel on-site.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 10 years of experience in senior construction superintendent roles, with a proven track record of success in multi-family residential projects.
• In-depth knowledge of all phases of multi-family construction, from pre-construction to completion.
• Strong understanding of New York City building codes, permits, and regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a diverse construction crew.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
• Superior problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
• Experience with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend) is a plus.
• Valid OSHA 30 Hour Construction Safety and Health Certification.
• NYS Construction Supervisor License preferred.
