Throwback Thursday! Project Manager, Cory Patton, came across these historical as-built drawings this week while working on the Gold Gate project for the Washington State Fair Events Center. This is a drawing from 1982; note Absher was the General Contractor (see bottom left of the plan sheet) with the same address and phone number we still have. Very cool to see this history of serving our client for decades while referencing old drawings on a current project!

Absher held its annual Summer Picnic this year at the Tacoma Rainiers' game over the weekend! Families enjoyed great food, an awesome game, and perfect weather! A very special shout out to Carrie Williamson, and everyone else who helped organize such a wonderful event. Making the day even more special, Superintendent, Jim Rogers was celebrated on the jumbotron for his 40 years of service at Absher!

Absher Virtual Design and Construction Manager, Brooke McNally, presented the DEI Moment at a joint Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) NW and SMPS—Society for Marketing Professional Services Seattle event yesterday. Brooke used this Pride month as an opportunity to speak on the topic of allyship. Thank you, Brooke, for sharing and inspiring others!

These are great photos of Absher crews performing a template layout for the anchor bolts, electrical conduits, and concrete port for the columns at the Washington State Fair Events Center, Gold Gate project. The red lines represent the future overhead steel struts that will support the canopy. This required extensive, geometric layout skills to avoid conflicts, conceal conduits, and for the bolt template to match the fabricated canopy. After the pour, we will ship the wood templates to the fabricator for additional quality control and verification.

Congratulations to our Omak project team who had two celebrations last week; the @Omak Tribal Head Start’s grand opening and an accident-free safety lunch for the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation’s new medical clinic crew.
