A Day In The Life Of

As a member of our team, you will report to the Director of Pediatric Therapy. You will provide clerical support and perform routine clerical duties and tasks in a pediatric clinic office setting, supporting our team of twenty pediatric therapists as we serve children ages birth to school age, and their families. You will assist in preparing and maintaining permanent records for patient care and ensure compliance with of all agency policies and procedures. Your people skills will come in handy as you provide a positive customer service experience as well as help you to maintain fantastic professional relationships with your fellow team members and those that we serve.

Responsibilities And Duties

  • Assist with data entry, data/file management, record keeping and various office tasks such as filing, copying and faxing
  • Ability to obtain preliminary medical developmental and social histories/plans for care
  • Support in obtaining physician's orders and physician certifications
  • Maintain current list of outstanding physician certifications
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and to work effectively with others
  • Multi-tasking and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Good oral and written communication skills for positive and clear interactions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency to work as part of a team.
  • Attends and participates in staff meetings and trainings as required.

Requirements And Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED), or Bachelor's degree
  • Ability to type, operate personal computers, word processing equipment or other automated office systems

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline
  • Knowledge of medical industry/clinical office procedures relative to insurance eligibility/authorization
  • Prior experience working in a pediatric clinic setting
  • Proven experience working with families whose children are developmentally delayed
  • Strong background in Early Intervention Services and Part C programming
  • Demonstrates knowledge of infant and toddler development through education and experience
