The Senior Network Engineer III plays a critical role in our organization's IT department, with the primary responsibility for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of our networking infrastructure. This role demands a deep understanding of network technologies, systems security, and the latest industry trends to ensure our network infrastructure supports the organization's goals and objectives effectively and securely. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop scalable, automated networking solutions that enhance operational efficiencies, network reliability, and security. This role requires a blend of advanced technical networking knowledge, programming skills, and a keen understanding of automation tools and methodologies.
Duties and Responsibilities
Design and implement new network solutions and/or improve the efficiency of current networks.
Install, configure, and support network equipment including routers, switches, datacenter spine/leaf, wireless, and SD-WAN.
Lead the design and implementation of network automation and orchestration strategies to support our growing infrastructure needs.
Formalize and maintain configuration standards to maximize network efficiency, reliability, availability, and security for all networks.
Maximize network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting.
Coordinate planned upgrades and maintenance to ensure minimal disruption to others' productivity.
Document network topology and develop comprehensive reports pertaining to network configuration, issues, and solutions, for both technical staff and stakeholders.
Assess network performance to ensure it meets the present and future needs of the business.
Provide technical direction to IT support staff.
Offer structured guidance and advice to less experienced network engineers, promoting skills development.
On Call Rotation, after hours work, may be required.

Education and Experience
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, JNCIS, JNCIE) are preferred.
Years of Experience
A minimum of 7 years of experience in a network engineer position, with at least 3 years in a senior role.
Skills
Experience implementing Data Center Networks using Cisco Nexus-class switches.
Solid background in network engineering, automation, and architecture.
Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience of LAN, WAN, SDN, Cisco ACI, Cisco DNA, SD-WAN, and Cisco/Meraki Wireless technologies.
Expert knowledge of network protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VXLAN) and concepts (VLAN, STP, VRF, QoS) including their advanced features and the ability to optimize their performance in large-scale networks.
Deep understanding of switching technologies STP (Spanning Tree Protocol), RSTP, MSTP, VLAN Trunking Protocol (VTP), VPC and SVL switching technologies.
Proficiency with Cisco IOS, IOS-XE, and NX-OS. Experience with Cisco Catalyst, Nexus switches, and ISR/ASR routers.
Knowledge of JunOS, MX Series routers, and EX/QFX Series switches.
Experience with programming and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
Proficiency in automation technologies and tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and experience with solutions, such as, Terraform, Netconf, and YAML.
Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) templates to automate the deployment and management of network resources.
Familiarity with SDN, NFV, and API-driven network configurations.
Solid understanding of CI/CD principles and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
Lead initiatives to integrate network automation with CI/CD pipelines and code repositories.
Mentor other engineers and network staff in network automation practices and technologies.
Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in networking technologies and network management practices.
Develop and document best practices and operational procedures for network automation, network management, and operating procedures.
Conduct regular reviews of the existing network architecture to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization through automation.
Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools (e.g., SolarWinds network tools, Wireshark, iPerf).
Strong understanding of network security, data privacy, and compliance policies for PII and PCI.
Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues while under pressure.
Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to translate complicated technical concerns to non-technical individuals.
The anticipated salary range for this position is $123,600 – $185,500 depending on location, knowledge, skills, education and experience. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition, we offer comprehensive and competitive benefits to Associates (and their families) such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability. Eligible Associates are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan. Associates will accrue paid time off up to 236 hours per year (inclusive of PTO, floating holidays, and paid holidays). Paid sick time up to 80 hours per year unless otherwise required by law.
