Overview

The Senior Manager/Director of Business Analysis shall work out of our Hartford, Connecticut office and follow a hybrid schedule working Mondays and Fridays remotely in addition to Tuesdays through Thursdays in the office. Our ideal candidate shall lead the operations business analyst team for the Talcott Financial Group. This role will execute on key projects and transformation initiatives, build on process improvements, partner across the organization with project managers and IT business partners.

The successful candidate will be extremely well organized and energetic, and capable of participating in a team environment where they will take the lead on special projects, execute on key priorities for the organization and support the enterprise. The Senior Manager is a seasoned business analyst or business analyst manager that can build strong working relationships with business partners, lead a team of tenured business analysts, and provide coaching/development on a regular basis. We are looking for a candidate that can work collaboratively across with the ability to take ownership of our business analysis process.

Scope Of Responsibilities

  • Provide coaching, development and evaluate performance of Operations Business Consultant (Analyst) team
  • Manage team capacity and resource assignments
  • Collaborate with key business partners including IT and PMO to drive portfolio strategy for operations business processes.
  • Coordinate, support and lead stakeholder communications and change management for production support issues.
  • Manage and provide oversight of print and postage vendors including budgeting and governance, ensuring all customer output is sent within regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Please note that this position can be filled as a Senior Manager or Director level commensurate with a candidate’s experience. Qualified Senior Managers will have the following qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years as a Business Analyst Manager or as a Business Analyst with leadership experience which may include: project management oversight, training and/or mentoring experience.
  • Knowledge of annuity and life insurance operations, process and products including regulatory requirements for customer communications
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with ability to influence and drive results within a highly matrixed organization.
  • Strong working knowledge of PowerBI, Excel, PowerPoint and Azure DevOps is required
  • Ability to provide coaching/development/performance evaluation of a seasoned team of Business Analysts and partner across functional departments.
  • Readily able to influence change with a positive mindset and passion for process improvement.
  • Ability to drive projects to completion while supporting cross-functional initiatives.
  • Financial budgeting experience required.
  • Ability to influence project outcomes and provide executive level presentations.
  • Accountable for the new project intake process for operations and can tie back value to key organizational strategies.
  • Problem-solver with the ability to think strategically and critically with a focus on data analysis. You should be able to take data and turn this into stakeholder communication and change management plans.

Director Level Candidates Shall Possess The Following Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Business Analyst Manager with a minimum of 5 years as a Project/Program Manager including coaching, training and/or mentoring experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive operational process improvement work within function including stand up of new annuity platforms and partnership with external vendors
  • Knowledge of annuity and life insurance operations, process and products including regulatory requirements for customer communications
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with ability to influence and drive results within a highly matrixed organization.
  • Strong working knowledge of PowerBI, Excel, PowerPoint and Azure DevOps is required
