Senior Lighting Designer


Map Design Studio is seeking a Senior Lighting Designer with 7+ years of experience, to join our growing studio.

We are a young and fast growing architectural lighting design office with work located around the US and internationally. Projects range from high end hospitality and residential to institutional and large scale commercial developments.


If you are experienced in dealing directly with clients, managing multiple projects and have a deep understanding of all aspects of the lighting industry, we’d love to hear from you!

This position will serve as the main point of contact for our clients, maintaining and reaffirming these relationships through daily interactions and leading the projects through all various phases of design and construction.


Responsibilities:

  • Project Management
  • Design Management (Including but not limited to):
  • Lighting Layouts
  • Lighting Calculations
  • Design Presentations
  • Fixture Schedules & Specifications
  • Control Specifications


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Architectural or Theatrical Lighting Design
  • 7+ years of experience in the field of architectural lighting
  • AutoCAD
  • Adobe Creative Cloud
  • AGI32 or similar light calculation software
  • Experience with Revit is a plus

Map Design Studio offers a competitive benefits package, and salary will be commensurate with experience. Candidate will work locally in our New York City office on a hybrid office/remote schedule. Some travel will be required.
