Kinjo, a Japanese-inspired Izakaya, has opened at Newark Urby! Each Urby location integrates a unique food and beverage experience next to the lobby to create an energetic community hub. Urby Founder and CEO David Barry was drawn to the neighborhood-centric approach of Kinjo and shares, "We are thrilled to introduce Kinjo to Newark Urby, a thriving enclave that draws its vitality from Newark's diverse and dynamic spirit. Kinjo reflects our dedication to nurturing a lively atmosphere and extending a welcoming hand through an exceptional dining experience and public space." Kinjo, which translates to 'neighborhood' in Japanese, is the brainchild of Owner and Chef Jamie Knott, a renowned chef celebrated for his acclaimed dining establishments in New Jersey, such as Madame, Cellar 335, and Saddle River Inn. "Newark is a city known for its cultural hub and diverse dining options. We are thrilled to bring Kinjo to this dynamic community, adding another vibrant thread to Newark's dining fabric," said Jamie Knott. "Kinjo aims to be more than a restaurant; it's a neighborhood gathering place, inviting Urby residents and the surrounding community to enjoy modern Japanese-inspired cuisine and create memorable moments in a welcoming and approachable setting." Kinjo is open Monday-Thursday from 8:30am-10:30am for light morning items, 11:30am-3:30pm for lunch and 4pm-9pm for dinner; and Friday and Saturday from 4pm-10pm for dinner. Come check Kinjo out!
