Title: Senior Data Center Design Engineer

The Senior Data Center Design Engineer will play a crucial role in developing tailored solutions to support the growth of our customers. With a deep understanding of space, power, and cooling requirements in critical facilities, they will devise growth plans as well as ensure reliable and safe operations. This position reports to the Director of Engineering for the specific region (Americas, APAC, or EMEA), serving as a key contributor to optimizing data center efficiency and reliability to meet evolving client needs.

The ideal candidate will possess experience in various domains such as electrical, mechanical, controls, security monitoring, fire safety, networking/fiber, server equipment, systems, and infrastructure. This multifaceted expertise will be instrumental in addressing the diverse challenges encountered in data center operations and in delivering comprehensive solutions that align with industry best practices.

Additionally, possession of a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred, demonstrating proficiency in leading and executing projects effectively within the data center environment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide Technical Guidance, Floorplans and Capacity Review during Pre-Sales Activities.
  • Review existing site capacities and provide recommendations for expansion projects.
  • Coordinate the overall Design Process, manage budget reviews, and support construction efforts for new projects and existing site expansions, while working with Partners, Contractors and Internal Teams.
  • Retain accountability throughout the construction to deployment phases, ensuring the collection of internal requirements and the delivery of solutions that fully meet customer needs.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge, accurately enforce, and revise as needed all Engineering SOPs and company practices where possible.
  • Review, optimize, and innovate on site designs.
  • Potential to travel up to 25% of the time with flexibility to travel on short notice.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Proven extensive data center design and build experience or other mission critical facility experience.
  • Ability to manage Data Center construction projects from inception through to completion.
  • Electrical and Mechanical experience with thorough understanding of the Systems that are supporting Critical Environments.
  • Advanced AutoCAD and REVIT skills; experience with ACC is a plus.
  • Adeptness in collaborating with and coordinating multiple groups and disciplines, including vendors and internal stakeholders, to ensure seamless project execution and alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Proficiency in preparing and overseeing budgets while effectively managing resources.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to efficiently manage and structure large volumes of information.
  • Outstanding customer service skills, with a proven track record of effectively addressing and resolving client needs and concerns.
  • Demonstrated capability to mentor junior engineers and conduct periodic spot checks to ensure the quality and accuracy of their work.

Experience/Education

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience with Data Center Engineering and Construction or equivalent experience in mission critical facilities.
  • 8+ years of demonstrated proficiency in overseeing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification highly encourage to apply.

US Salary Range

$150,000—$175,000 USD
