We are thrilled to see that the highly respected Water Shelf on Maven’s Notebook posted a positive review on Professor of Natural Resource Law at Stanford University, Barton Thompson’s latest work, Liquid Asset - How Business and Government Can Partner to Solve the Fresh Water Crisis. The author of the review hails it as a book that “… helps us to think more broadly of water as an asset, in a way that combines for-profit economics with public benefits into a cohesive valuation of water.” In 2019, Professor Thompson invited Cordoba Corporation’s EVP and COO Randall Martinez to speak with his Stanford Law School students as part of a "Business of Water" lecture series. The book, in turn, features Cordoba Corporation's good work assisting the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power with dust mitigation efforts at Owens Lake (in California's Eastern Sierra Nevada Mountains). The richly detailed analysis to foster both improved public policy and responsible business behavior offers readers a chance to delve into the Professor Thompson’s years of research of challenges and opportunities. https://lnkd.in/gcCij74y

Meet our Cordoba team members in Madison, Wisconsin at the 2024 Advanced Training and User Group (ATUG) next week! We are days away from the conference and our team members are excited to meet you to share and to fuel their industry knowledge and expertise.

Cordoba team members had the honor of joining the US Consulate in Mexico for the US Independence Day Celebration in Mexico while on a delegation alongside our binational partners, diplomatic community, and civic and business leaders to continue our efforts on development of critical infrastructure projects that improve efficiency and resiliency of our ports of entry.

Cordoba team members joined an event with Latinas Lead with Majority Leader Curry and Majority Leader Gonzalez in Sacramento. Latinas Lead is a non-partisan political action committee dedicated to amplifying the political voice and lived experience of Latinas by increasing the number of Latinas in elected office, appointments, and other prominent leadership positions. The morning provided a great opportunity to network with elected and public officials throughout the state, civic and industry partners, public utilities, and other like-minded community leaders.

Our Managing Partner, Maria Mehranian featured as one of the panelists at BizFed Institute’s annual Water Resiliency Forum. Her extensive background in water policy and technical expertise continues to afford her opportunities to share and provide insight especially when it comes to water supply, accelerating projects, and management.
