ewi is collaborating with a Global Consultancy to find an experienced Senior Construction Manager to lead a $1 billion Dam Rehabilitation project in California.
This is a permanent position for the project, which includes major excavations, spillway, dam structures, civil works, tunnels, earthworks, and M&E. This role offers continued employment opportunities with the company on other projects or at their office upon project completion.
Responsibilities Include
Managing senior technical profiles such as resident engineers, quality control, and contracts management.
Leading progress meetings, coordinating with contractors, overseeing the senior team, identifying and resolving issues, and coordinating with the Owner team.
Conducting schedule reviews to identify potential delays and disruptions.
Supervising the administration of the construction contract, including processing RFIs, submittals, correspondence, and changes.
Acting as the primary communication point with the Owner and key stakeholders.
Working autonomously to handle critical activities within the construction project office.
Collaborating with resident engineers and project teams for progress monitoring, technical review, and guidance.
Providing technical support, monitoring schedules, preparing cost estimates, and assisting in claim analysis and contract administration.
Required Skills And Qualifications
A relevant Civil Engineering Degree (or related field) with a minimum of 12+ years of relevant work experience in large infrastructure projects, such as bridges, tunnels, dams, hydropower, mass transit, and marine projects.
Polished, decisive, and client-facing with strong senior stakeholder engagement skills.
Expertise in civil/construction fields to understand project delivery challenges, particularly within detailed design.
Industry networks and professional connections that demonstrate market understanding.
Key Interfaces
Reporting to the region's VP.
Leading a team of sector experts and commercial teams.
Providing supervision and technical leadership to construction management teams.
Operating within the international business line and the North American business unit.
Liaising with international offices for technical support and design, including teams in Europe and Asia.
Additional Considerations
This is a new position for a new project phase.

This is a site-based role, requiring a full-time presence Monday to Friday.
