Job Description

Clinical ink is seeking a RFI/RFP Manager to join our Outcome Solutions team based remotely across the United States! The RFI/RFP Manager will support Clinical ink's overall commercial efforts in the winning of new business by drafting and managing key/strategic, enhanced, and high-complexity requests for information (RFIs) and requests for proposal (RFPs) for clinical trial opportunities. To be successful in this role, the candidate must have professional writing and/or consulting experience in the CRO or eClinical industry combined with ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The RFI/RFP Manager's responsibilities include:

  • Support Clinical ink’s overall commercial efforts in the winning of new business by drafting, updating, and finalizing requests for information (RFI) and requests for proposal (RFP) for high-visibility, high-complexity clinical trial opportunities that reflect a thorough understanding of client requirements, needs, and challenges.
  • Manage the RFI/RFP development process including organizing meetings with relevant stakeholders, gathering data/information, preparing costs, consulting with internal/external experts, and delivering a high-quality final RFI/RFP within the given timeframe.
  • Work closely with Business Development and other members of the commercial function to understand requests for key/strategic/enhanced clinical trial opportunities for existing clients.
  • Prepare costs for high-complexity and non-standard RFIs/RFPs that demonstrate an understanding of margins, budget assumptions, and other financial requirements.
  • Evaluate enhanced, strategic, high-complexity, and/or non-standard RFIs/RFPs to identify potential issues, questions, etc.
  • Provide status updates on RFI/RFP response preparation and escalating any potential issues or concerns to appropriate parties as needed.
  • Develop and own the RFI/RFP response template that includes information such as KPI data, operational performance metrics, and Clinical ink’s project delivery experience.
  • Build relationships and proactively interacting with internal stakeholders (such as Business Development, Product, Operations, Commercial Ops, Finance, Compliance, etc.) to keep abreast of current information related to the company, its strategies, and future initiatives.
  • Maintain RFI/RFP content in corporate repository to ensure content is up-to-date, easily accessible, and available for reuse.
  • Meet RFI/RFP response timelines and ensuring content is high quality, accurate, and consistent.
  • Assist with the maintenance and management of commercial records, including electronic files and Clinical ink's CRM data base.
  • Coordinate and participate in negotiations and discussions with clients as needed.
  • Attend bid defense and other client meetings in a support role/capacity when required.
  • Perform special projects, ad-hoc requests, or other activities as needed/assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant equivalent experience required
  • MBA required
  • 5-7 years of professional writing and/or consulting experience within the CRO or eClinical industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of drafting RFI/RFP responses for technologies such as eCOA, EDC, Sensors and Wearables, CGM, etc.
  • Deep understanding of industry cost drivers and budget algorithms.
  • Experience working in business partnering or financial planning & analysis (FP&A) capacity is advantageous but not required.
  • Self-starter and the ability to function in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate with all levels of internal/external personnel.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention-to-detail.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to work under pressure while managing multiple competing priorities at once.
  • Ability to work independently or on a cross-functional team.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Experience with CRM databases such as Salesforce preferred.
