I fondly recall attending my first Peak Load Management Alliance (@PLMAdr) event in Vegas in 2014, when I sported significantly more hair on my head than on my face (and none was grey or white). Fast forward ten years, and it remains one of my favorite industry events. The people, the insightful discussions, and the fresh connections I've forged at PLMA's Spring and Fall events over the past decade consistently fill me with enthusiasm.
This year was exceptionally vibrant, blending the wisdom of seasoned professionals I've known for over 10 to 20 years with the energy of new, ambitious faces poised to change the world. The conference was alive with intellectually stimulating thought leadership, engaging debates on innovative rate designs, battery storage, decarbonization through load management, electrifying transportation, and the intricate balance of meeting utility grid needs while delivering delightful experiences to program participants. I also particularly enjoyed the discourse about defining VPPs and exploring the impact of AI and data centers on our near future—discussions that were as enlightening as they were thrilling.
A personal milestone for me this year was attending PLMA as a proud member of Renew Home alongside Vince Faherty and Elysia Vannoy. The debut of Renew Home at the (sneaker) ball and the buzz surrounding our new company was absolutely electrifying. I am incredibly excited about the innovative solutions we are developing for our energy partners and, crucially, homes nationwide. Our efforts to decarbonize the grid, enhance its resiliency, and help people save money, live more comfortably, and embrace sustainable living are more than just goals—they are commitments I am passionate about.
Looking ahead, I am brimming with anticipation for what the 50th edition of the conference will offer this November in Brooklyn, NY—a fitting venue for such a milestone celebration. Thanks for everything you do for us and the industry PLMA crew!
