Research Technologist II (Multiple Positions)

Position Highlights

The Department of Pathology seeks qualified candidates to apply for Research Technologist II positions. This is an exciting opportunity to work with the Arizona Repository personnel. These positions will help build reporting infrastructure that will maintain reporting standards for all specimen data captured at the ANCHOR biorepository and provide support in data entry and record-keeping for the specimens. This position will also assist in record cleaning/investigation where data sets are analyzed using a combination of software and physical review.

Within the areas of health care delivery, research and teaching, the Department of Pathology serves to bridge basic science and patient care. We continuously adapt to the medical needs of the patients we serve. Duties & Responsibilities

  • Independently design and build complex scientific data and statistical analysis capturing systems, software, and reporting infrastructure that will maintain reporting standards for all specimen data captured at the ANCHOR biorepository.
  • Collaborate with team members to extract, analyze, and use captured tissue collection and biobanking data in ongoing research and proposal writing to support documents for grant and contract proposals.
  • Provide technical and scientific expertise to researchers, staff, and students in the inventory management, workflow, and data use/analysis of the ANCHOR biorepository.
  • Collaborate with scientists to identify the appropriate data collection processes and procedures using computer unique networks and dashboard systems to maintain specimen inventory of the highest quality samples.
  • Participate in developing, implementing, and evaluating procedures to track specimen history and locations.
  • Report on and prevent variables and issues that could negatively impact specimen quality. Modify processes and capturing systems to counteract and correct adverse effects.
  • Develop and adapt procedures and techniques to fit specific experiment requirements.
  • Operate, calibrate, and conduct performance checks on integrated laboratory databases

  • Ability to communicate effectively with different groups/individuals.
  • Ability to analyze and report on large data sets.
  • Ability to learn and use unfamiliar computer software.
  • Skills to develop efficient computer reporting practices.
  • Mastery Microsoft Excel skills.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Prior laboratory, data, and statistical analysis experience.
