Research Associate I (IVD) in Irvine, CA
6 months then will evaluate if they convert to perm
"They are looking for individuals with around 1 year of industry experience in the IVD field and solid hands-on ELISA experience. Must be OK handling blood/serum samples."
"They will also prioritize individuals with experience with antibody/antigen selection and conjugation, protein purification, SDS-PAGE, and Western blot."
Job Summary:
The Research Associate I will support immunodiagnostic assay development following the product development process. S/he will work under the direction of the Research Scientist’s guidance to execute daily experiments, analyze data sets, write protocols/documents, and generate reports.
Job Responsibilities:
Executes assay verification and validation with the team.
Participates in projects for Biomarker/IVD assay development in various disease areas.
Ensures quality in work, such as raw data records being accurate, complete, and in
appropriate order, and meeting protocol and SOP specifications and GLP requirements.
Assists with the establishment of protocols and procedures.
Executes the evaluation and qualification of materials following established protocols and procedures.
Assists with identifying needs and sourcing of materials, samples, and other critical
materials, as well as supplies.
Participates in daily lab operation duties
Executes other assignments by upper management as needed.

Education:
- BS in biology, biochemistry, bioengineering, chemistry, or science/engineering-related disciplines
- Minimum 1 year of industry experience in IVD immunodiagnostics fields, or other related diagnostic fields.
- Experience with ELISA, antibody/antigen selection and conjugation, protein purification, SDS-PAGE, Western blot, etc. is a plus.
- Must be willing to handle human whole-blood, plasma, and/or serum samples.
- Hands-on experience with biochemistry laboratory tasks
- Excellent organizational skills along with strong written and oral communication skills
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other applications
- Familiarity with immunoassays or automated instruments is a plus
- Experience writing, reviewing, and executing standard operating procedures, protocols, and reports is a plus
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Good collaborative skills within a dynamic team
