Research Assistant Professor of Genetics

The Department of Genetics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the non-tenure research track. Expertise is required in the specific area of genetics, and may include expertise in one or more of the following: computational biology, statistical genetics, population genetics, biomedical informatics, complex genetics, clinical genetics, pharmacogenetics/genomics, functional genomics, structural variation analysis, cancer genetics, human phenomics, and genomic medicine. Applicants must have an M.D. and/or Ph.D degree.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include developing collaborative and independent research programs related to human genetics, co-supervision of postdoctoral fellows, students, and research staff, coordinating NIH-funded grant efforts with local, national, and international collaborators or independently, and active leadership in writing grants, reports, and manuscripts.

The Department of Genetics comprises a basic science faculty with diverse investigative interests and close affiliations with clinical departments at Penn Medicine as well as the neighboring Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Wistar Institute.
