In 1922, Woodcraft Rangers opened its doors in Los Angeles and began its mission of guiding young people as they explore pathways to purposeful lives. A progressive organization for its time, Woodcraft’s programs were notably inclusive, youth-led and rooted in the Woodcraft Way, a framework that develops body, mind, spirit, and service. Celebrating a century of service this year, Woodcraft has been, and continues to be, at the forefront of expanded learning opportunities in the greater Los Angeles area. Woodcraft Rangers offers full-spectrum afterschool enrichment, summer learning and outdoor education programs for nearly 15,000 youth between 4 and 18 years old from 88 Title 1 schools throughout LA County. In addition, Woodcraft Rangers has recently launched new initiatives such as Lifecraft, a career and college advancement program focused long-term academic and career goals for its over 500 staff.
Position Information:
The Recruiter will research, develop, and implement effective recruiting and staffing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified and capable talent for the organization. The Recruiter’s primary responsibility is to coordinate the organization of all recruiting needs including, sourcing candidates, posting on job boards, screening applicants, scheduling all candidate phone, in-person, and zoom interviews, as well as make sure that candidates have a positive experience and introduction to the organization. The Recruiter responsible for maintaining a robust pipeline of qualified candidates year-round.
This is a hybrid work position. The Recruiter will be expected to regularly work in the office, in the field at events and has the flexibility to work from home.
Overall Responsibilities:
Source candidates from multiple sources, e.g., online job boards, social media, local college and university partnerships, community events and boards, etc
Partner with Hiring Managers to understand needs and hiring criteria
Proactively contact and recruit prospective candidates to establish relationships, understand their needs and qualify them for job opportunities
Generate leads through various recruiting channels, strategic planning, and referrals
Partner with cross-functional staff to develop and execute recruiting plans and processes and routinely collaborate to improve the effectiveness of plans and efficiency of processes
Research and select optimal external job sites on which to electronically post open positions
Research and recommend job fairs in which the organization should have a recruiting team present
Represent Woodcraft Rangers by hosting job fairs, community events and at other opportunities to interact with candidates and recruit staff
Facilitate applicant, candidate, and new hire communication to support end-to-end employment processes
Post job description on internal and external job sites
Partner with hiring managers and/or interviewers to calendar in-person/onsite candidate interviews
Focusing and providing a positive candidate experience at every opportunity
Provide administrative support to Recruiting administrator during absence or busy periods of high recruitment
Other responsibilities as assigned
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred
2-3 years of experience in recruiting or relevant experience – preferably with high-volume experience
Strong attention to detail, administrative, and problem-solving abilities
Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levels
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
ADP Workforce Now experience highly recommended
FBI & DOJ Livescan clearance
TB Test clearance
First Aid & CPR certification (provided by WR)
Ability to use smart phone for work related business (WR provides Wi-Fi/cell stipend)
Woodcraft Rangers will require proof of vaccination for ALL employees providing any in-person work with staff or clients
