Nikola is seeking an energetic and motivated individual to become the Quality Inspection Supervisor. This role will report directly to the Plant Quality Functional Leader. In this role the Quality Inspection Supervisor will be responsible for the daily staffing of resources in the vehicle inspection area, training the inspectors on the various inspections required throughout the process as well as reporting audit findings to the Plant. The Quality Inspection Supervisor will be the conduit for quality inspection findings to the manufacturing team and therefore must be able to clearly articulate the details of the audit findings.
Responsibilities
Foster a collaborative working relationship, centered around quality, with the manufacturing team.
Support manufacturing “Built in Quality” initiative by providing detailed quality inspection findings to ensure 100% compliance.
Execute product and process validation/inspection plans according to broader quality management plan.
Identify, contain and assist in the repair of vehicle defects.
Channel customer and service feedback into inspection processes.
Inspect, test, and measure components and vehicles within the manufacturing facility.
Initiate and participate in quality-related continuous improvement (Kaizen) projects.
Develop, maintain, and improve training program for the inspection staff.
Report inspection findings to plant management and attend daily production support meetings.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience (Engineering discipline preferred)
Manufacturing/assembly/quality process experience (+2 years preferred)
High volume manufacturing experience
Problem solving experience (RCA, 5 Why, Fish Bone, etc.)
Kaizen / continuous improvement process experience
Knowledge of statistical process control/control charts
Ability to effectively lead in conventional and unconventional organizational structures.
Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
Physical stamina to (including but not limited to) stand, kneel, bend, push, pull, reach, grip, lift, etc.
Comprehension of and adherence to safety & policy practices
Candidates must have current U.S. work authorization or be TN eligible from Mexico or Canada. This position is not eligible for CPT or OPT.
