Public Relations Intern

Matternet is a technology company specializing in the development and deployment of drone delivery systems to create a more efficient, sustainable and connected world. As we prepare to launch drone delivery operations in Mountain View, California, we are seeking an enthusiastic Public Relations Intern to join our team. 

The Public Relations Intern will support the leadership and external PR teams in executing strategic communication plans for Matternet's upcoming launch in Mountain View. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in public relations, media outreach, event planning, and content creation. The ideal candidate is a proactive, creative thinker with a passion for technology and innovation. 

Key Responsibilities:

Content Creation:

• Assist in the development of engaging content for social media.
• Collaborate with the external PR team to ensure consistent messaging across all platforms.

Community Outreach:

• Support the planning and execution of press events and community outreach activities, which will include regular interaction with the public.
• Assist with logistics, including vendor coordination and on-site event management.
• Ensure timely delivery of event materials and collateral.

Research and Analysis:

• Provide insights and recommendations for improving PR strategies.

Administrative Support:

• Assist with scheduling and coordinating meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the PR team. 

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
• Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing tools.
• Basic understanding of media relations and PR practices.
• Comfort interacting with the public on behalf of the Company. 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Creative mindset with a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Passion for technology and innovation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous internship or work experience in public relations or communications.
• Knowledge of the drone industry or related technology sectors.

Compensation: $23.50/hr - $25.50/hr

Location: Mountain View, CA with some travel required.
